So it really sounds like she is serious for the album to come out. OMG I am trying not to get too excited but this is the most she has talked about it in a long time. 

 

I know she has trolled us before and she may be doing it again, but let's be honest, ever since ANTI came out her life changed in many ways so it makes sense she has not released an album yet.

 

First and foremost, yes music has taken a second seat to her beauty empire, so she feels like if she comes back musically it has to be a home run, one way or another her face is the public face of the company, it would not bode well for her musical return to flop.

 

Then following up ANTI, which became beloved, almost revered after all these years, it sure put some pressure on her. She may have writing camps for her albums, but she still needs to select and construct what she wants to emote at the moment of release, and the bar is very high.

 

Then all the life changing events: her breakup, the pandemic, A$AP, and now motherhood. All of that changed her life and how she sees it and what she feels. I am pretty sure there are many R9 scrapped versions, and we could've gotten them but do we really want something she doesn't feel passionate about?

 

If the Super Bowl taught as anything, it's that it's better to not force her to do anything she doesn't wanna do.

 

She looks stunning on the cover and Baby Fenty the First is adorable.

The fact that she was actually enthusiastic about the question and wanted the interviewer to ask her about it gives me hope!!

I agree.

 

I felt more sincerity.

 

She definitely wants to release it, but was held back over the years due to a combination of fear and pressure as well her brands which also needed a lot of hardcore attention. 
 

The Super Bowl was her way of saying to her fans that she’s ready to come back .

Ya'll she could've used the pregnancy as an excuse as to why she plans on waiting to release the album and no one would've blamed her....the fact that she's saying she still wants to release this year and let go of the pressure is a good sign

I’m gonna guess droplets this year, album next. Or maybe depending on when baby is born a November release like she used to. Either way I can’t wait for some music

It was more like 'I can't believe I still haven't gotten an album out, but also I have this pressure and I'm not sure what's right' to me, I wouldn't be surprised if there's no album this year simply because she's too in her head about it

I think the overwhelming positive reaction to her SB and the huge spike in her catalogue consumption will be enough to help ease some of the pressure and she said that she's realized that she has to release the pressure and stop waiting for things to feel 'perfect'

This. But hey it will happen sooner or later. She still cares about us/music, other wise the SuperBowl would have never happened. It will come when it will come and at this point I’m ok with it 

I am a big doubter, but I really believe the pregnancy threw a wrench in her plans. I truly think the Super Bowl was originally meant to relaunch her music career. There’s too much happening with rumours of festivals, tours, and potential single releases not to think so.
