I'm rewatching and it's better than I remembered. Birthday Cake x Pour It Up x Pose has no right to slap as hard as it does. :jonny:

guys her video makes me sooooooooo emotional omg    we have grown old together as a fanbase. we were just teenagers & most of us are adults in their late 20'/30's now.

Is it just me or is BBHMM suddenly in her top 5? I cant get enough of the halftime show intro :msmarvel:

It's always been!!

Every time I re-watch I love more the performance. She should win a Emmy. Super super cool.

She doesn't care about attention. She didn't post anything and still win followers.

The boost is one of the biggest ever but her catalogue is also one of the biggest ever.

If she had decided to drop new music. It would be massive. Definitely she should

Critics are almost as good as the performance.

WHAT a moment.

Can't wait for the Oscar's performance.

Yes and we love to see a Rated R song revisited.

Not the best setlist but I thought she did great

People are WAY too used to gimmicks to shock the audience these days... she did what she had to do, and she's slaying with the streams

So I didn't want to log in at all and comment on the performance, I wanted to forget it instantly but after two days I really feel like I have to, (and I'm bored).

I just don't know where to begin to be honest, I have so much to say lol. I'm truly perplexed at how she let this situation happen.

Let me start by saying I'm happy for her that she will have her second child, I know how much she wants a big family.

But I also have to ask myself how are you gonna let yourself get pregnant 4 months before what you know will be the biggest, most important, and most hyped up thing in your entire career, a performance where you should be at the top of your game, both physically and emotionally? :deadbanana2:
I'm sure there was a first version of her performance that was scrapped some months in development when she told the executives she's pregnant, and I get it it was unplanned but like... she makes it seem like she really gave no fucks about SB at all.

But even if pregnant, her performance could've been so much better. From the nonexistent entrance, to the setlist, design, mixing, effects, everything fell flat to me, even the pregnancy reveal.

The worst thing to me is the fact that she 100% looked like she didn't want to be there. Honestly, it was painful to watch her facial expressions, she looked like she is so annoyed that she has to go through all of that. And it's not her usual DGAF attitude, I've never seen her look so unhappy performing. She had 0 of her usual confidence and charisma, I was worried if she's ok.

IDK y'all. She had all the time in the world, Apple backing her with money and technology, amazing catalogue of hits, amazing dancers and crew, huge anticipation and hype all over the world... and she ended up giving us an uneventful, uninspiring 13 minute megamix of her songs which she performed like she's only doing it because she has to.

I guess I expected from her to bring her best game for the most important thing in her entire career, like girl c'mon it is the ******* Superbowl, at least that is the one thing you could've taken seriously enough...

I am ready to get dragged, but in my opinion she served us mediocrity. And I don't care about post-SB "numbers". It even makes everything a bit worse, because if her SB was great, the numbers would've been astronomical, and don't let me even start on new music. This would've been such a perfect way to relaunch her music career, and effortlessly slay, without even having to do anything.

What a wasted opportunity, ugh.

Do we know where her peers albums charted after their Superbowl? Just want to see if this is good or not :-*

Personally I enjoyed the SB immensely. It felt like a great Rihanna performance.

I’ll say this… it really does feel like a chapter has closed for her though. I’m sure there will eventually be new music and stuff, but as far as her being a reigning pop star is concerned…I feel that is done and she’s done with that life. She’s found a new a thing that excites her or suits her creative outlets better.

I’ll forever look back at that 2009-2017 period of her life as one of the most exciting celebrity eras. She was IT. She encapsulated something that’s rare nowadays and that’s being a TRUE STAR.

I got emotional thinking about this earlier. But they were happy tears. I'm so proud of her for giving us that Super Bowl. Let's be honest we never thought this would ever happen. The last few months building up to it have been so exciting.

I think it was hard to take in the show on first watch because I was so nervous and then the shock of the pregnancy reveal distracted me from what was going on.

I actually love what she did though having rewatched it. I love that she didn't do the expected. I didn't need to see Umbrellas and rain machines or a copy of the VMA medleys. She delivered a Super Bowl that looked visually stunning and was so memorable.

She's nearly 35 she doesn't exactly have tons of time to say, "Let's wait a year until Super Bowl, album, tour are done then I can have more children."

YES! Totally. The way she opened with  BBHMM, that was a song I NEVER expected on the SB, mostly because it’s not family friendly and also because even if it’s moderately known, it’s not exactly an obvious opener.
But that’s exactly why it was great, because she still knows how to be subversive.

I didn't even say that she should've done that? Just not do it in the middle of SB you already agreed to do, don't think that's unreasonable. But in the end it wasn't even the main issue.

They keep editing more and more cuts of the performance, and I am loving them because there are now a lot more close-ups of her, and you can see she was dancing! :clap3: If you haven't watched it in the last few hours, you will notice A LOT of different cuts with a lot more details.

Can those of y’all whining confidently point to 5 examples of her delivering a performance better than this? Like, if this is the performance that defines her as a musician I think that’s pretty cool, tbh.

In terms of the set list, I looove the megamix style. I only wish that the section with WT/AOTL/RTT was shorter to make room for some of Disturbia/SOS/Pon De Replay.

Wild Thoughts actually should've been cut completely; that was definitely the weakest section of the show. It's a bop but quite unremarkable/low intensity.
