She's not considered "cool" anymore and no matter the song, people won't stream it. A good feature with a popular, young artist could change that but... she won't do any of that

For the current state of her career, the only chance she has per album to score a hit, it's with the lead single. WAU did amazing, Walk Me Home did well (it charted for 20 weeks), and Trustfall could have done well if it was released as the lead. NGNDA killed any momentum and hype left for her.

 

She got CMIS of course, but that's how TikTok works, you never know which song they'll turn next into a hit, so if they want to plan a 'next hit' for her, they just need a good song as the lead, or well, a random collab like the One Too Many one

Honey, I disagree. Every artist who wants to stay in the spotlight needs at least one hit per album. And she hasn't had that for a while. She may have grossed $700 million from the Summer Carnival and Trustfall Tours, but she's struggling to sell tickets. And this is happening in places where she's big, like Australia and Germany (extremely slow sales). You might not have been tracking ticket sales, but she postponed shows two or three times in some places (the United States) and still couldn't sell out. Not to mention the tour was announced months before the show started, and even that didn't help. And then there's the struggle with sales for H2BH and Trustfall. She's rich and doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, but if she wants to remain a touring artist, she needs a setlist change, recycled performances, and at least one impactful first single. She doesn't need to replicate Taylor Swift's numbers, but she needs to stay in the spotlight.

I don't understand that either. The song exists. Although I find the name quite strange. I don't think she'll release anything this year. Since Summer Carnival ended last year, she usually takes about two years off.

It's strange, first it was because of the Colin Kaepernick controversy, but after Jay-Z took over, she said it would be better for black or latin artists to do it instead. Maybe she fears of a major backlash 

From this video it's obvious that she's not releasing anything anytime soon (I still hope You+Me is coming tho). Now she only cares about school, family, etc, and I don't blame her, she deserves a break, but somehow it makes me sad.

So weird to get a respond from her to all of this stuff, also why would she even care to debunk it. I mean every couple years there's a rumour that she will perform at the super bowl. I thought this time around nobody really considered her doing it
