i was looking through twitter and it gaga is being praised a lot

the biggest criticism seems that the movie is kinda pointless

LFS flopped, and she still DARE to release a jazz album 3 years later... it's not a good look for her career..

 

but yeah she should have made Harlequin an EP instead.

Yeah, I enjoyed it better than the first but it's a pointless movie. She's great in it though and will be the highlight for most people (fans or not)

Pointless in what way? The CBM fans care only about an universe plot that keeps the story going from one plotline to another, meanwhile Joker's universe is never about what's coming next. It's about character and the real life reflection. If it says something meaningful and deep then it's not pointless. This is not supposed to be  part of DCU and where the story goes is never the main point.

Because of the mixed signal they received after Venice, it all depends on how Warner chooses to campaign it, which is still in the air. They probably won't decide it before they got the box office results.

I think it deserves a 70 but mostly yeah. I don't think the critics gave enough credit for the technical work, musical direction/score/arrangements, and some of the bolder directing choices, but unfortunately the story wasn't there the courtroom drags it down and parts felt like they went through many edits.
