All the villain/babygirl edits with the "I've become a zombie/notorious being" People who are worried about radio don't see the vision. The same kids that have been obsessing over Bloody Mary, Government Hooker, Heavy Metal Lover, Americano etc. will be all over this. This is exactly the direction she should've chosen. Not to mention Gaga is by far the most respected popstar in the metal community - if they hear that it's metal inspired they will listen to it. And then you have her fanbase also craving this type of material from her. I'm pretty certain if she gave us cookie-cutter radio-tailored pop music a la The Cure/some tracks from Chromatica, she would have a great debut and then free-fall. This has potential to take a life of it's own imo. Edited July 29 by SweetOreosOfHeaven 17 2

duybeeGAshantiGA Posted July 29 Posted July 29 (edited) Leave radio in the past guys. It's 2024. It's not like their misogynistic and agist asses would play women passed 35 even if the music is good. Edited July 29 by duybeeGAshantiGA 3 1 1
Nico Robin Posted July 29 Posted July 29 The instrumental on the Zombie snippet is too good and addicting 5

Even Taylor struggled a lot until recently she became such a behemoth that they could no longer resist her power. If she does well enough radio will have to play it, but whether or not she does is not dependent on radio in 2024. 4

I think just because it has electronic elements doesn't mean it's not rock - rock doesn't have to be acoustic/analog music. I personally never wanted Gaga to release a TRS/Janis Joplin type of album. But the vocal performance (especially in abracadabra), the electric guitars, and the overall intensity are very rock and metal inspired - a bit like Dorian Electra's Replay remix. It can be both rock and dance - and I'm glad that's what it seems like we're getting. Agreed. Although, to me it's still much more electro, techno influenced than rock or metal, but I guess it's all for the best since it's shaping up to be her most diverse and brave record to date. 1

But at the end, I don't think grammy matter that much to her unless it is a general field category ASIB's snub was 99% due to the Blue Ribbon Committee, which has since been disbanded. Do you really think Lil Nas X's '7-EP' had more raw votes than ASIB? 2

If Gaga herself is mature enough to admit those records aren't her at her best, y'all can too. We're about to get peak Gaga again, let's celebrate that. where did gaga say she never felt this inspired since artpop? I know about the first part but I don't remember her specifically saying 'since artpop' plus you cant tell me you think she wasn't inspired for asib soundtrack

frankvert Posted July 29 Posted July 29 It's widely known that Interscope doesn't payola on radio so why Chromatica's production was so watered down is still mind boggling to me. But after these LG7 snippets it seems we're far from the shallow at last 2

Pop radio airplay isnt that strong anymore. They're not adding you extra 100 points. #1 on pop radio right now just reached 38M airplay which is like 40points at max. 1

No mainstream musician is doing techno/industrial adjacent albums rn. The closest I can think of is Halsey's IICHLIWP, which was in fact co-produced by NIN's Trent and Atticus, but even that is alt-rock with industrial influences. 6 1
