Yes, she was! I don't think people give her enough credit. She was always heavily involved in the writing and process.

 

I like hearing how some songs came to be. The one that will always be a kiii to me is when she said she heard "I'm Real" with the "Firecracker" sample in the studio when they presented it to her and loved it. It was the first song she wrote a melody to, and switched it up on her own. The irony, out of all songs.

And Chante is funny because she said  she heard Diddy wanted her song. Diddy was not invovled in "On The 6" like that, besides producing the song, "Feelin' So Good". He was more invovled in her second album. The producers/writers said he gave them space so that she can work on her album. So the rumors that Diddy made her music career aren't true either.

 

According to the producers, Tommy Mottolla reached out to them to create a breakthrough first single for Jen. They said they listened to what she was working on, and created the track.
