Even if she doesn't perform, I'd at least like her to attend. She can present VOTY or something and serve an iconic look.

Duallah kinda made it relevant that night tho and was the biggest star there, it was kind of iconic to launch the new era there

In the 90s and early-00s, definitely. Madonna, George Michael, Prince, U2, Oasis, Beyoncé, Mariah, Timberlake... it used to have some pretty big names.

But the VMAs used to be at that caliber too  

 

I’m not trying to say the VMAs are a massive A list event, but it’s at least on the same level as the EMAs in my opinion.  And to be honest, the scale of award show doesn’t really matter anymore.  If the performance is good, the clips of it will be on social media and will earn publicity that way.

I think Dua has beef with someone at the VMAs, she’s been to every irrelevant awardshow under the sun but them

Yea I feel like VMAs are too close so I don’t think she’ll perform + shouldn’t she already be rehearsing if the performance is THAT close? We all know she’s been traveling lately so I don’t think the VMAs are happening. Maybe an appearance at best. I am hoping for an announcement soon tho. Considering we got the official fan account, now this September issue of Vogue which is random if she doesn’t have anything to promote in September, the interview DL3 talk and teasing, that radio listing we got.. All perfectly leads up to an announcement.

This tbh. Albanians are notorious in SE Europe for their stubborness and ESPECIALLY for holding long-standing grudges.

I remember 2-3 years ago there were reports that Dua supposedly didn't take the VMAs seriously or something and didn't see it as an award worth putting effort into getting.

 

May have just been a stan coping with the lack of nominations though.
