#That discussion is so old, boring and tired and quite honestly aggravating

Two very different artists, one of them is probably the greatest ever and the other is pretty with hits.

Two different target audiences, two different approaches. It's easier to have huge streaming numbers when you cater to mass consumption. Lets wrap it up.

Hit the nail on the head here. This base should be reserved for talent only.

Writing credits are out and Jay is all over that album. I always wonder if he goes into writing sessions. In my mind she rolls over to him in bed and goes "Jay I have this song but I think it needs fixing. Here lemme play it from my phone" then he adds his critiques, throws in some hooks, and then he gets credit.

Regardless, no matter whose propped up against Bey. They will NEVER give us a Cowboy Carter like Bey. And that's on PERIOD!

Why are we discussing Rihanna? She's a cute girl with some bops, but Miss Bey left her in the dust many moons ago

Whether we like it or not, Jay is just an insanneee lyricist and I do think him for the amazing quips he's written for Bey

Tomorrow is gonna be a moment if she actually attends. I'll take whatever we get but I have to say this release week already feels more eventful than Renaissance's (and BMS/the weeks leading up to the album)

Ahhh a performance would knock the rappers off the top spot! Beyoncé switch it up and surprise us.

Need to find an organ or two I don't need to sell cuz I NEEEED that B'Day + Ya Ya segment live.....NEEEEEEEED IT

Beyoncé is still so in love with Jay. It's crazy and understandable at the same time. She will never leave his ass. As a black woman, she does everything she can to keep her family together. So relatable.

Yes, this was her country album. But I lowkey feel like this is her rock album and act iii will be jazz. Bc what was the purpose of that "let's get saxxy" segment in the Verizon commercial???

(Best song that happens to be an album opener is obviously Crazy In Love)

CIL will never be dethroned of its iconic classic status, but REQUIEM is a more technically impressive song and honestly might be the greatest thing she's crafted in her career. Sonically, vocally, lyrically... As an album opener, it also serves as a stronger introduction and first chapter of a record than CIL does.

But perhaps this is also a redundant point to harp on because one would only hope that an artist, after 7 albums, has matured enough to craft a more masterful album opener than their debut record. For CIL to still be held in such high regard even 20 years later is a testament to her singular talent and virtuoso intellect.
