I thought the topic was interesting, so created the thread. Some of you need to stop worrying about other fanbases' opinions on here. nnn i just saw it. If this was Beyoncé, there would already be 2 threads in each section of the forum 1

Dreajae Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 All these stories about Bey planning small, then acting shocked that she needs to meet demand are disinhearting. Like the ST drop. She saw how well the GP supported Lemonade while doing the bare minimum. She was behind Drake and Adele for best selling album. Yes the Gift flopped, but she had to know that she didn't even put enough into the movies promo run to warrant a decent enough return. I want Beyonce to fully realize her commercial appeal and take her place on the throne. You are a big enough artist to the point where these messy rollouts are unacceptable. I appreciate her staying grounded, but Yvette and others gotta go. They cannot handle her star power. The leak said it all! 3

They could have gauged interest by having a staggered rollout, singles, EPs etc, could have shopped deals before the album was released. She heads Parkwood but if it had competent people that are able to back their rationale with proof and numbers, I’m sure she’d pay attention. Parkwood are not deciding on singles or EPs for Beyonce. They're also not determining how she approaches the production of a film etc. In the case of BIK Bey literally decided after a few music vids that she wanted to do a visual album... Parkwood in all honestly are probably just reacting to her impulses lol. In sure there's fault on their side but I really wouldn't do too much on them besides distribution of the album, vinyls, merch etc 1
swissman Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 It sometimes seems like this base is stanning two different women: A woman who is known to do things at her own pace, in her own way, to the detriment of her commercial success, as she pleases, with disregard for the "common" tradition of pop marketing as she sees fit relative to her art or the reverence for which she wishes to hold her art. A woman with no business acumen of her own who wants success but just has a terrible team she's not the boss of and couldn't possibly do anything about even if she tried, who is at the whims of her publicist Yvette, and who doesn't realize that if she doesn't promote or release at the right times, might flop, and when she does, is going to come complaining to her fans about it. Depending on the Beyoncé news cycle, either woman is brought up, but only one of them is the [moreorless] accurate depiction of how she approaches her work. 4

I’m even more convinced now that the things that have been happening from the Echoville articles to her ripping off that chrome mesh breastplate thing to reveal the red heart underneath are all leading somewhere. 2

The fact that the thought she was gonna flop, just setting my sister up for failure is just… The mess of Chloe and Halle’s solo stuff also confirms Parkwood is currently in the pits. They really need to get it together 1

He got his check via that means, so the YouTube +iTunes availability is just an added bonus. It was an artsy/fartsy wannabe BIK (complete with the same directors) and wasn't really super narrative-driven, so I wonder if he faced what Jeff Sneider suggests was Bey's issue some six months ago. Streamers who were once shelling out big bucks for projects like that are being more careful with their coins. She should do the same atp it’s been almost 2 years just put it somewhere it’s easy to watch for the fans Edited September 1, 2023 by bijonse 1

I've worked for someone like this before - they were a nice person but it was exhausting and I always felt on edge because weeks of work would be thrown out to acommodate their change of whims. In some ways it was worse than working for the monster I'd worked for before I've always felt that was the vibe of Parkwood too but the payoff there is so great because when it works you get to see the whole world worship the work you did 1

The demand for SOLO Beyoncé never dwindled that was clear when BMS came out the gate swinging on singles charts when she finally did a normal lead single release after 10 years of games. Whoever on her team is making her think too small has gotta go. I think renny made her even more relevant and in demand cuz now everybody is wondering where is her music videos and is she coming to their country for a concert 4

And it’s always the same thing… Same for the "she wanted some videos and then decided on a full film last minute” thing like how are you doing this AGAIN when it miserably failed the first time i just don’t get it 2

Yonceage Posted September 1, 2023 Posted September 1, 2023 I just saw an LA Times article about the mute challenge. It's becoming the most important aspect of the tour. If the folks at Parkwood had any sense they'd convince her to put one of the successful mute moments on tiktok.
