The source essentially just said no deal was done at the time 6months ago and it was recently being shopped, I wouldn't put too much weight on it being  "passed on" or "Bey not being happy with"... It was shown but not sold as the source was speculating as why it wasn't sold.

I understand, but it reminds me of this story from THR (July 2023).

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/music-news/beyonce-scraps-50-songs-album-590765/amp/

It reads as though she was scrambling and couldn’t figure it out, but a few weeks later she started shooting music videos.

Basically, we’ve been here before.  Maybe this article was true in the sense that the direction changed.  But the added context of 4 being her lowest seller and the writers being affected (most made the album) painted a doom & gloom narrative.

When people can’t figure out her wave, they seem to try and fill in the blanks.

Reputable source or not, though, I don’t believe everyone just passed on it.  But it’s cool if you and anyone else does.

Just regarding your first point. Neither Rennie or Cuff It are A class hits, they're not sittingat the top of 2022 singles or album sales/streams on the global stage. They're like a solid B. The tour is mega but that's through Bey's legacy. None of this translates into the success of a film. Coldplay may be able to gross 1b in tour revenue but they're not drawing the GP to the cinema or streaming platforms, entirely different mediums and requirements.

Who said they were? You can assess their success all you want but the terms "flop" or "dud" still should appear nowhere near RENAISSANCE.

And that's not even my main point which is that (if the article is correct) I commend her for not lowering her asking price just because Hollywood execs told her "no." Beyoncé has both the power and access to do so, and I'm glad she didn't take what she didn't think she feels her work is worth, thereby lowering the ceiling for anyone else who might come after her as well, because "if Beyoncé can sell for this price, then you surely can settle for that one" sort of thing. Whether she's overestimating it or not, I'm saying I'm glad she at least has the balls to do so.

It could be out in a couple of weeks at this point. She did the same with announcing Renaissance. First there was teasing that she's coming, then the media was all about her coming and then she announced it

Anyway, this whole back-and-forth really goes nowhere without knowing A) how much she's asking for B) how much they're willing to pay and C) how much other, similar works have been bought for, too.

Honestly just hearing Nadia Lee Cohen is involved has me extremely hyped. These will probably be her best visuals ever. :jonny:

Anyways, Bey will get her money she demands either way

This is amazing!  LMFAO!

Paul Reubens being in the visuals is hilarious.  RIP.

The cameo I’ve been sworn to secrecy is just as bizarre.  So, this tracks!  My prediction?  The celebs are all of her neighbors in the town of ECHOVILLE.

I know it’s hard, but give her some grace.  This is going to be so great!

but this is major wow, Nadia Lee is an amazing photographer i love her work and i’m so happy she’s working with both of my faves the same year :jonny6: i remember thinking the ITG trailer had a similar aesthetic Nadia’s photoshoots have

imo wether the "studios passed on it” info is false or not doesn’t really matter, it’s clear something went wrong or changed for whatever reason and the "she’s reshooting stuff" tea was most likely true (the VG leak from 3 weeks ago hmm..)

Bey not directing is also really exciting and the "it’s weirder than Lem and better than BIK" comments gets me even more hype :hippo:

Even that is sketchy because bey only just recently trademarked ECHOVILLE.
there was nothing to be considered or “passed on” 6 months ago.

I mean how big of a coincidence it is that news like this "leak" on the same day she becomes the highest grossing female act of all time and gets the highest grossing female tour of all time. Those news could've leaked any day in the last 6 months, but it happened today. Let's go, Giselle, release your visuals

At this point releasing at the end of the tour kinda makes sense

I choose not to address your second paragraph for a reason.... regarding the bolded, why bring up the success of Cuff It and Rennie? I never said they were duds I said she's had duds and flops in her recent history. Spirit/The Gift/EIL, hell even BMS is underwhelming in pure numbers. The point shouldn't need elaboprating that she is not above miscalculations and/her material not quite resonating with the masses or even her fans.
