I went to a new gym tonight for the first time and there was a DJ blasting "Before I Let Go". :rip: A dream.

Reminds me of when Nice came on in a fancy (Americanized) Vietnamese restaurant in NYC.

I was with a table full of like 7 ppl and I couldn’t focused on any convo cause I knew that moment would NEVER happen again. #BeyonceOutInTheWild :priceless:

I was still kind of holding out hope for Virgo Groove, but seeing how scant the promo for this era has been, I’m ready to resign myself to it becoming a hidden gem in her discography.

I’m making my peace with the fact that it’ll never be a party staple.

Ms. Virgos Groove now joins the ranks of other unknown 10/10s like Runnin’, All Night, and Blow :alexz3:

Meh. Bey could not get the cheque she's getting had she been some flop indie artist her entire career. You get those cheques because you have/had established your legacy through known successful hits. In 2023, streaming is the successful hits are measured, so if she wants to continue getting those cheques, or even raise her price levels, it would be in her best interest to maintain strong streaming growth.

As for the catalogue selling, you are misrepresenting what is happening. Streaming does pay money, it just takes a while to get it. The firms buying the catalogues would not be throwing away hundreds of millions of dollars if they knew they would not be able to recoup that money with the same catalogs. Artists are selling because they would rather get the let's say $100M up-front now, than have to wait 20 years. Either way, they would still end up with the money so it's not really a streaming issue.

Beyonce's legacy is established whether she never has a hit again at this point. they didn't pay $24 million off the strength of Break My Soul. Beyonce doesn't have to keep up with anything in 2023 or going forward. her career is not fragile like that...once you get to a certain point in your career....your reputation and legacy carries you through & Beyonce is already there. her career is not in danger of hanging on by a thread based off each day she misses the Top 10 Spotify daily stats.

Don’t take the bait! Now he’s really about to turn up :gaycat7:

That fake ass meltdown! Like I said that **** sounds suspect. She's dumb, she's old, she's out. :rip: man wtf? I'm sorry that is not okay. He hasn't made a single positive post since the era started and I'm not the only one who sees it as it is. I'm sorry if I was kina harsh but I can't sit back and watch this mess.

Anyways the album is on full blast in my truck and just got to Plastic :jonny:

Girl even the lord rest on the 7th day. Her recurrent streams are not that great. Who cares?

Posted

The way I just realized Plastic was meant for those whipser r&b girls which is what she was emulating a bit :lmao: the bridge especially sounds like something Jhene or Snoh would serve.

Her streams are nothing ONE viral song on tiktok can't fix. Preferably something from Lemonade...

I want to make a general statement. There is no reason for anyone in here to call others out of their name and be nasty. It is not that deep and it is unnecessary. Constantly being nasty and rude to people unwarranted only shows everyone how unhappy and miserable you are in real life.

Anyways, I don’t think the YouTube videos are a hint to anything.

The kicker is this...she doesn't NEED anything else. She was cemented February 2017 when she lost AOTY ironically. She's a literal music and pop culture LEGEND. Literally the face of PERFECTION across multiple avenues.  Scored another set of #1s without even saying a word. You are so aggy sometimes. And the fact that you're not black really rubs me the wrong way when you say certain **** about her. I've sat back for YEARS watching you hype up Dua Lipa and her 2 octaves and have literally watched you bash Bey since June. You are literally a weirdo. Don't be surprised if you get banned from this thread.

I get chart hive and WHY they care about the streams. But @giRLbye. really dropped tea about artist selling their catalogs. These streaming numbers don’t equate to money. Folks can make a good 150 million on their catalog and live their best life, rather than waiting for the peanuts to trickle in over a lifetime from Spotify. Although streaming  shows ‘relevance’ in terms of what people are listening to, as an artist it’s not generally that profitable. I agree we want the GP to consume Giselle and give her that ominous cultural relevance, but I can totally see why she doesn’t care. We probably should stop caring too.

Some one also made a good point about her ability to sell physicals and digital downloads. Beyonce’s market is just different. Can we acknowledge that?

SZA did a gagillion streams and sold like 10K copies. Beyoncé is the opposite.

What would you guys say is the hidden gem (not necessarily your fave but the track most people would be shocked about)on each album?

1. Speechless

2. Suga Mama

3. Hello

4. I Care

5. Blue

6. Love Drought

7. Heated

Bonus:

i could not care less about streaming numbers, however i do care about her catalogue being more widely recognized by the GP, like the stories im reading on here about people not knowing Partition, Blow, Etc. :deadvision:
