It should be renamed Best Pop Song which is basically what it is. Just so people don’t get confused

that’s literally not  Best Pop Solo Performance / Best Pop Vocal Album 

 

Female / Male Pop Vocal Performance was last awarded in 2011.

First of all, it's Best Pop Solo Performance, and secondly, the description makes it clear it's not about "vocals" or about "performing"

it should be a different category. Other cats like RnB, Rap, Rock, Country all have a Best Performance category and a best song category, which bolsters the amounts of Grammy's successful artists in those fields have. 

 

Makes perfect sense to have a Best Pop Song = best songwriting on a pop song, and best pop performance = best vocals, performance, etc on a pop song.
