I agree. Another 26 weeks is doubtful unless Save Your Tears never fully takes off at radio and they continue to play BL.

If you retroactively apply the superrecurrent rule, it seems like only Radioactive - other than Blinding Lights - has charted for 62 weeks or more

 

Radioactive - 71 weeks

(Sail was close ... 61 weeks)

almost all of these songs are sleeper hits that have spent up to 20-30 first weeks being nowhere near the top and then gradually built their way up the chart. i think it's totally unrealistic expectation for BL to outlast them but it doesn't even need to, it's totally separate IMO. to be quite fair hadn't COVID demolished the music market BL would've probably left the chart at some point only to return during the SB craze and then leave quickly again. i thinks around 70 weeks would be a healthy stay for it and an astonishing accomplishment. then it's time for TW6 

I’m going to be honest. I hate how records are being broken all the time now because chart rules won’t alter. Pop radio has songs charting 30 plus weeks now when it was 20 or so prior. Songs are hitting top 10 that aren’t top 40 on the hot 100. #1s aren’t getting played at all on radio. Like it just is too much streaming and I don’t find it exactly fair because you can stream something for ten seconds and make it stay on top. The song was massive and even though I’m not a fan, I’m glad he did it. But the chart rules really need changing or something. I get the younger generation don’t listen to radio, but many still do and songs like trollz, life goes on, stuck with u, they don’t know because they hardly hear them unless they stream them. To me, bl should’ve had more weeks at #1 because it was behind many of these #1s I said. Same with the whole remix rules too. Bb needs to mix it up bc the hot 100 is stale af rn.

Mass buying is to blame for all those non-event #1s, not streaming. And the H100 was like entirely dependent on radio at a point in time, so it's not like longevity records being broken now is anymore unfair than back then.
