it's Manic's lead single

It was released through Capitol Records as the lead single from Halsey's third studio album, Manic.[1][2][3][4]

Yeah, kinda nonsensical to use Without Me and Daisies in the OP. :rip:

This is the first thread i see where Taylor is on par with her actual peers instead of being sky high above everyone else including the new girls...lol

It's kinda refreshing to see this...how different her career looks from everyone else

I use the term MPG for every pop girl that is considered somewhat relevant, don't really care about the definitions, I think it's bs pretty much :deadbanana4:

what's Smile's lead then? and Manic's? :deadbanana4: if a song is released first and is attached to an album it's called lead single

Never Really Over and Without Me, or Daisies and Graveyard. Depends on how you want to see it, both NRO and WM were added within the tracklist and not as an appendix/bonus tracks so I guess they count as lead!

Who the hell is listening to Stupid Love? Is Gaga's wrost lead ever :deadbanana4:

But it wasn't released as the lead single. It was called the lead single more than a year later despite Halsey tweeting that it was just a droplet.

The logic is that Daisies isn't Katy's lead single under the same pretense.

"Daisies" was released on May 15, 2020 as the album's lead single.[26]

Throughout 2019 and 2020, Perry released four solo songs, originally intended to be non-album singles. "Never Really Over", released on May 31, 2019, was announced to be on Smile by Perry in June 2020.[13]

"Never Really Over" is a song recorded by American singer Katy Perry, released as a standalone single on May 31, 2019, by Capitol Records. The song was later included on the track list of her sixth studio album, Smile (2020)

"Graveyard" is a song by American singer Halsey. It was released on September 13, 2019 through Capitol Records as the second single from her third studio album, Manic (2020).[1][2]

"Without Me" is a song by American singer Halsey, released on October 4, 2018.  It was released through Capitol Records as the lead single from Halsey's third studio album, Manic.

""There's a five part video series and I'm not writing myself and playing someone else and now this song is not attached to an album," she shared. "It's a standalone record. And that's the interesting thing about music—I was supposed to be taking a break and then I wrote this song and it's like, music doesn't care about your schedule. It's like, if the timing is right, you need to [do it]."

The English Wikipedia posts a lot of nonsense tbh. The concept of Manic didn't even exist when Without Me was released, those statements are completely inconsistent. :rip:

IFPI is wrong too? :deadbanana4:

and Forbes too

The 25-year-old singer, born Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, can attribute this eligibility to the explosive success of Manic’s lead single, “Without Me”

https://www.forbes.com/sites/bryanrolli/2020/01/17/halseys-manic-is-already-eligible-for-a-gold-certification/

Things can change, what you posted was said upon WM release, she intended to release it as a standalone single then it smashed and she chose to make it a lead, people scrap leads and change their plans about them all the time, this isn't new.

even from her own fandom page:

For some reason I thought Midnight Sky was above 400m, but still impressive for Miley.

I'm not saying Without Me isn't Manic's lead; I'm just saying Never Really Over is Smile's lead, considering exactly like Without Me, it's in the album's main tracklist and it was the first single released off of it. Same exact case.

Technical Senorita is Romance's lead since its on the album :gaycat1:

@KillingYourCareerfrom Billboard:

On Thursday (May 7), Perry took to her social media to announce another new single, but this time with some added news. "The first single from #KP5 is called #DAISIES and she’s coming MAY 15, 2020," the star wrote on her Twitter. "The music must go on."

I brought the receipts that prove that Daisies and Without Me are the leads, the rest is speculation

k

Lead single ‘Never Really Over’ (which interpolates Nowegian singer Dagny’s punch-drunk belter ‘Love You Like That’) is a stonking song and one of Perry’s best in years. With its euphoric chorus and electronic beats, this is a glimpse of the joyous pop that Perry is synonymous with. It’s frustrating, then, that the rest of ‘Smile’ lacks the fizzle and cheek that made earlier releases such gems.

Perry’s first single from this album, “Never Really Over,” has a playful, fast-tempo chorus. The lyrics remind listeners that just when people think a relationship or memory has vanished, it has a way of coming back into their life. This song resembles Perry’s older music as well as her usual elaborate music video visuals.
