There is like, zero parallel though. :rip:

Work It Out was a soundtrack single for Austin Powers which was released like 8 months prior to Crazy In Love. Normani had Waves, the song with Calvin, Love Lies and DWAS all on which she was either the lead or shared lead credit. These situations are nothing alike :lmao:

We’re the 24 youtube numbers even that good? It was only 4 million...

She had less than 434k subscribers before the video so that’s really good!

Where are you getting 6 from?

She’s had 3 official singles but Love Lies was for a movie soundtrack, Dancing with A Stranger was a duet with Sam, and we’re not sure if Waves is making the album. Her Crying in the Club :michael:

Checklist with Calvin wasn’t an official single and it’s not gonna be in her album.

Beyoncé released I Got That with Amil and 03 Bonnie and Clyde with Jay-Z before she released Work It Out.

Edit: WIO was before 03 B&C but that’s 3 singles before her lead

Love Lies was a soundtrack single just like Work It Out

The song with Calvin wasn’t officially released as a single. He just dropped the EP out of nowhere.

Ok, she had three official singles prior to this one. :rip:

She shared lead credit with Sam on DWAS. Waves went for adds on Urban and Rhythmic while the song with Calvin was pushed internationally.

I don't have anything against Normani. But let's not act like she didn't have false starts before Motivation. :rip:

And before you bring up Camila again, no one denied Crying In The Club was pushed as a single first before they scrapped it and went with Havana. :michael:

This isn't her debut single. :rip: If anything it was Waves. This is her lead single if there's an album.

Are you REALLY trying to draw a parallel between Beyonce and Normani? :toofunny3:

Waves was a false start but they scrapped Waves for Motivation. :fan: This is her first single for the album and her first as a solo artist.

I’m just being defensive because this all started from someome comparing Normani with Taylor Swift :rip:

This isn't her first single as a solo artist though. :rip:

She may have had features or shared lead credits with the songs before, but they were released under Normani's stint as a solo artist.

You can say this is her first SOLO single as a solo artist though.

ATRL a few days ago: "She'll be dead on arrival. She should consider herself lucky if she manages to scrape the Top 100."

*Motivation debuts Top 30 in the US and with 1.6 million plays overall*

ATRL today: "What an underperformance1!1!!1 She was expected to do so much better, this is so disappointing!1!1!!"

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

It'll get bigger with time, no rush. I think it could debut top 20 or 30 easily, then rise

If I only know how to bookmark posts I will do it and compile it, then make a mega thread about it when Normani enters top 10 in Hot 100.

I never understood this logic.

They might as well admit they hate to see this girl win.

just make screenshots and post them later:fan:

1.67 million / 1,500 = 1,113.33 album sales

1,113.33 / $9.99 = 111.44

The fact that she only got $111.44 from this is really tragic. :( Streaming is great but it doesn't pay well.

Comparing Normani's first ever single to TAYLOR SWIFT's music. This website is so pathetic. This smells kinda racist I think.

Wait is that actually how artists are paid from Spotify? That's actually more than I was expecting tbh :skull:

this isn't bad but her team needs to work on making something catchy for her

can't see this song becoming a very big hit..
