It's interesting how as MB tightens its RC airplay rules BB seems to relax its. BB used to have a 5/52, 10/26 & 15/20 rule on its AC & ADT40 Charts. Based on the number of weeks some songs have spent on those charts in those given areas, these rules must not apply anymore.

for Billboard Calm Down should be removed next week since this is the 78th week and it is below the top 5. Flowers has 102 weeks but is still in the top 5 .

Quote

from Adult Contemporary after 78 weeks if ranking below No. 5, after 52 weeks if ranking below No. 10, or after 26 weeks if ranking below No. 15;

OK, they relaxed the rules then. Good. The 5/52, 10/26, 15/20 was too strict for those charts. Also, Teddy Swims is the new "add-on guy" for songs. He's now featured on Country, R & B and other genre hits besides his own.

On Mediabase, over the last month, the Alternative chart added a 30/5 or 26/5 rule (as Hozier's Too Sweet and Myles Smith's Stargazing were sent recurrent under these rules after 30+ weeks), which is a bit overkill. If Mediabase wanted to add a below 5 rule for Alt, it should have been 40/5 or 35/5.

The 20/10 rule worked perfectly fine.

Hot AC has a 40/5 rule, and that is what Alt should have adopted.

Dancing in the Flames and It's Ok, I'm Ok will go recurrent this weekend. Popular is currently in a purge position, and Disease could join if it gets passed by 2 songs below it.

Knowing she'll win award + possible performance at the iheard radio music awards, its safe to say this will be around until April and her next single will perform well too.

I love to see it

Love Somebody spends a 2nd week at #1 on Billboard Country airplay: https://s3.amazonaws.com/bulletins.billboard.com/country/country_update_2025_0131.pdf

Highway goes recurrent before A Bar Song. (It's time to push Good News on country radio.)

Maybe MB HAC is about to change its RC rules too. AC did not THAT LONG ago.

@pride4jc1222 Good News did debut at #55. But Country Radio has a T5 H100 song & now a T30 GOAT (rising). Like Last Night & Fast Car in '23 theyll hold on to them as long as they're huge overall. ABS actually gained spins. And Devil You Know has spent 27 wks on the chart but is only bulleted at 52. It has reached 49 so its entire life has been in the bottom 12. Love Somebody has the most spins I remember seeing yet for a song on the Country Airplay Chart. Since Cowgirls set the last record & only got 1 wk, this may not mean anything.

@JGibson I'm surprised HAC hasn't already gone after Liar. Jumping on 365 makes me smile 😃 though.

Dancing in the Flames and It's Ok, I'm Ok go recurrent tonight, while Disease should be purged. Popular has already left the Top 50.

Good News will be pulled into the Top 40; can't slow down just misses again.

I think Hot AC added the 40/5 rule a few months ago.

As for Alt, with Dexter and the Moonrocks being sent recurrent, it appears that the recently instituted songs below 5 rule is 26/5.

Too much on SZA, put some respect on her name.

The problem is radio programmers. "BMF" has climbed quickly because of star power: fresh material, from an artist coming off three smashes. They rely on her previous history (that GP loves her music) and she has the 2nd biggest album in the US right now. On the other hand, programmers have showed resistance towards Chappell's distinctive voice/way of singing, it is a shame, but that is the way it is. "Good Luck, Babe!" took some time to take off and it was highly helped by its strong consumption., and this is not occuring with "Pink Pony Club". Callouts are very good, it should be doing better, for sure, and more on a mainstream scene so dry.

Love SZA, she needs a better song than this

Consumption is on a rise for PPC!
