but after all, Apple plans to close itunes next year so this doesn't matter

I think the discount was an attempt to keep the song afloat since the release date got moved forward a week so they didn't have any promo planned. But it still would have gone #1 without a discount, like people are acting like it didn't reach #1 in 80+ other countries without a discount.

Yeah, I really think a fourth tier of $0.39 should be available for songs should the label be willing to sell the downloads for so little. Other music download websites already offer the $0.39 tier. ITunes should follow their competitors lead.

I mean, it's on its third day and still is doing more than double the #2. I don't know. I feel like it's an underestimation. Focus and Dangerous Woman both sold way more than they were predicted to.
