They need to be stricter, shut down everything except for grocery stores and pharmacies. Shut off the utilities for those throwing parties. They also need to find a way to coerce law enforcement to actually enforce the policies, so many police chiefs and sheriffs have said they have no intention of enforcing these.

REMINDER that LA County, the largest county in the country, actually voted to defund the police with Measure J. Police budgets are a municipal issue and other than Cori Bush, no other federal candidates actively campaigned on the slogan. It is wrong to ask activists to abandon the slogan just to appeal white moderate voters. If activists had done this throughout history we would not have progress.

By this logic activists should just shut up and poll their positions with white people prior to advocating them. Also, Measure J in Los Angeles, which is a defund the police measure, passed overwhelmingly. So you can’t say Cori Bush’s election was the only thing to show support for it.

Yet we have moderate bombs like Christy Smith who lost her special election and the general election in CA-25. Plus Democrats were locked out of the state assembly seat she vacated to run and thus lost a seat there. That’s the real kii, y’all just love to hate on progressives.

Biden improved on Clinton's performance with Latinos in AZ while the electorate grew so that's not true. Clinton also outperformed Obama in AZ in 2016 by almost 6 pts. due to increased turnout of latino voters and John McCain endorsed Trump back then! Arizona has been trending blue for a while and it's not fair to give Cindy McCain all the credit for an endorsement while there are actual organizers who put in the work to deliver AZ for Biden. Biden potentially putting Republicans in his administration is a big FU to Democrats who voted him into office. I vote Democrat to get Democrats, not Republicans. Not to mention this just further sets the stage for a 2022 red wave in which the suburbs get permission to vote polite republicans into office and stifle any sort of progressive agenda. The Republican party and anyone who identifies republican is rotten to their core and deserves no place in this administration.

This. Biden's win in AZ should be rightfully credited to latino and native american voters. Let's not forget that John McCain endorsed Trump in 2016 after all Trump said about him in the primaries. Liberals just love praising moderate republicans for satisfying the lowest of standards, which in part gives way to voters voting R down-ballot.

Moderates underperformed Biden, especially where it mattered (e.g. Maine, Michigan senate races, competitive California races). Not to mention Ilhan’s race was one of the most expensive in the country and she was outspent by $4.5 million along with a third party challenger who got 10%. Therefore I don’t think it’s fair to draw conclusions based on this tidbit.

I’m just very fired up about this because the likes of Clyburn and Spanberger immediately resorted to blaming progressives, socialism, defund the police rather than looking inwards as to why they underperformed.
