Taylor Swift
What do y'all think she's gonna do genre-wise on her thirteenth album? A return to country, or something else entirely? I know thirteen is her lucky number, so I'm expecting her to do something BIG with this one. As much as I love her country and folk-leaning tracks (they're easily my favorites), I'd absolutely LOVE to see her do a psychedelic pop album. Can y'all imagine how good she'd sound on tracks like these?

Should we start worrying about AI?
I don't know if you're actually talking about anal intercourse or if you're talking about artificial intelligence but I guess they can both be real pains in the ass.

What are you filling your bestie’s hole with?
I ain't picky when it comes to filling holes, so I'd probably just let my bestie pick whichever flavor they want. Them holes do look mighty big though, so I'd be happy to help 'em finish it off if they wanted. Ain't nothing like two besties coming together and putting both their tongues in the same hole.

Carly Rae Jepsen - 'Day and Night (Continued)'
The fact that day and night are polar opposites had me really intrigued to see just how different the "Night" side of the album was gonna be. I'll be honest, the "Day" side is much more my speed sonically. That warm, breezy, 1970's inspired psychedelic pop is right up my alley. That being said, I still really enjoyed the "Night" side, and even though it shifts into this sleek, synth driven dance pop sound, it still manages to feel cohesive with the "Day" side. I'm really glad about that because the last thing you want with a project like this is for it to feel disjointed. 32 tracks is one hell of an album, and the fact that I didn't find a single skip in the bunch is damn impressive. When I listen to an album for the first time, I usually just let it play from start to finish without stopping, but whew, y'all, I STRUGGLED with this one! There were so many tracks I wanted to listen to again. I had to keep myself from hitting replay every five minutes. I'm a little embarrassed that her discography dates back as far as it does and that I've been sleeping on her music all this time. Well, I'm wide awake now.

Carly Rae Jepsen - 'Day and Night (Continued)'
I just finished listening to the first 16 tracks, or "Day," as you will, and I'm genuinely surprised by how much I'm loving this record. I was gonna list some of my standout tracks, but I quickly realized I was basically typing out the entire tracklist. Not a single miss in the bunch! A lot of these songs sound like she took a Bruce Springsteen track and gave it a more modern, pop twist, and I am absolutely here for it. I'm in love with her voice, too. It's sweet yet sultry, and it suits this style of music perfectly. I was debating whether to save "Night" for tomorrow since this album is such a beast, but that first half flew by, and now I'm wanting more. So, naturally, I'm just gonna go ahead and give it a spin right now.

My best friend's a big Carly fan, but I don't know too much about her. They told me to give "Sixteen and Rising" a listen, figuring it'd be right up my alley, and well, they weren't wrong! It's a great track. I might just have to give Day and Night a spin and see what other hidden gems I can find.

New Member Orientation + Introduce Yourself Thread (2025–2026)
Howdy! I'm Brandon, and my favorite singer is Charley Crockett. I'm also a big fan of Lord Huron, Kings of Leon, Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile, and Taylor Swift. I listen to just about everything, but country, folk, and singer-songwriter music are definitely my sweet spot. When I'm not at work, I like spending time at the gym and hanging out with my friends and family. I also recently started taking guitar lessons, so hopefully I'll get pretty good at it before too long! I've been writing my own songs for years, and I'd love nothing more than to finally learn how to play well enough to bring them to life and perform them myself. There's probably a whole lot more I could tell y'all about myself, but that's about all I can think of for now.

Taylor Swift
I finally gave The Tortured Poets Department a listen for the first time last night, and I'm honestly surprised by just how much I loved it. It took me a while to get around to it because that tracklist is a whole lot to sit down with, and my favorite singer, Charley Crockett, has been putting out new music so consistently that nobody else has really been getting much of a look in lately. But I finally gave it a shot, and I couldn't believe how fast those two hours flew by. Even though Taylor's starting to stray further from country, I can still hear the country in her music, if that makes sense. There's still a little bit of that same spirit in there. With a few tweaks to the production, songs like "Guilty as Sin?" and "So High School" could've fit right in on Speak Now or Red. I've also noticed she gets a lot of petty comments about her vocals, but I thought she sounded absolutely gorgeous throughout this record. Her voice suits the kind of songs she writes, and I don't buy the whole argument that she can't sing just because she ain't out here hollering and showing off her range every other verse. There's more to singing than that, and I think this album proves it. This record brought back a little of that spark I felt listening to a lot of her earlier work, and I'm really glad I finally gave it the time of day. I'll get around to The Life of a Showgirl eventually, but for now, I reckon I need to spend a little more time with this one. There are just too many songs I want to sit with and really soak in before I move on.

Orville Peck - 'Mule'
I haven't gotten around to listening to the whole album yet, but "Already Gone" and "Too Little, Too Late" are great songs. I might give the whole thing a spin this weekend.
