Tyla - 'TYLA'
Even if it's not an EP, it is still a debut album pre-release. And it's not a good look that none of the new records released have made it to at least Bubbling Under, especially considering they are showing up under her "anticipated" upcoming debut album's playlist on Spotify and Apple Music, right alongside Water and Water Remix (both of which should ideally be bringing some traction to her new drops). She either needs better uptempo follows up records to lock in the hype. Or we're probably going to have to accept that she's essentially another one-hit-wonder who just wants to be an R&B girl, and will eventually get lost in the shuffle of already existing acts in that space.

Tyla - 'TYLA'
Yeah no. All 3 songs sound like slow snoozers She seems to wants to be an R&B girlie instead of the pop girl that people want her to be lol

Tyla - 'TYLA'
Always knew she'd go back to her sleepy R&B-amapiano niche, but hoped she and her team wouldn't do it this soon after releasing an uptempo hit Good luck to her, especially with the December/holiday season wave of music coming around the corner.

PinkPantheress - 'Heaven knows'
It seems like this didn't debut on the U.S. Top 200 either? To Hell With It at least went Top 100 there Honestly insane that a solo debut EP fared better than a debut album with 3 big features. I get that she blew up on TikTok, but IMO, her team needs to find a new strategy outside of the app because it's clear it won't always carry her nor translate into streams & sales. She's missing out on a huge segment of people and really, the next level of her career, by not pushing herself in other avenues. One major one is the lack of live performances. It's insane to think that she's never done a televised performance on a Fallon or a Kimmel, an award show like the EMAs, iHeart Radio Awards, VMAS, or even the smaller intimate ones like VEVO or Tiny Desk after 3 years. It would help her widen her reach with new audiences outside of her TT followers & hopefully gain new support. Teasing a song on TT & hoping it becomes a hit isn't a reliable formula. I don't know if she feels nervous because it's hard to replicate her studio voice, or what. But I think it explains why, although her profile has risen, her commercial power has kind of declined since the last release.

Tate McRae - "exes"
TikTok in combination with immediate TTH playlisting also helps. Emphasis on the latter.

Tyla f/ Travis Scott - "Water (Remix)"
Tbh SZA did nothing for the Remix of Doechii's Persuasive song when it was going viral. She didn't help the solo version nor the remix chart in Bubbling Under at the very least And I feel like Africans would totally eat up a Tems collaboration but it wouldn't do much for pushing it up the Hot 100 like her label wants.

Tyla f/ Travis Scott - "Water (Remix)"
Stupid idea Definitely been noticing how she and her team move like amateurs and aren't strategic at all. Travis' fanbase won't be the type of people to stick around and stream her amapiano catalogue of music once this collabo is all said and done Good luck.

Doja Cat performing Say So on her tour, calls it cash grab
She continues to show her true colors of being an arrogant and entitled a-hole, and idk why she gets so many passes from ATRL for it. The record should've been given to a more deserving talent so Doja could've kept living in RCA's basement, where she clearly wants to return and truly belongs anyways.

Megan Thee Stallion - "Cobra"
Honest thoughts. Pros: This is her best visuals to date. She's struck a balance between giving bawdy while still being artistic and having a central theme throughout the video. It's also her most lyrically vulnerable song, outside of Anxiety, which I appreciate in this climate of rap where everyone constantly wants to flex and brag, but refuses to show any other side of themselves. Con: I usually despise when people say she has the same flow/cadence/whatever, but this is one instance where I do wish she switched up her delivery or at least moved away from the usual adlib over usage. It just makes it sound so much like her previous work and doesn't do the record as a whole much justice. Interested in seeing her direction for this new era.

Jorja Smith - 'falling or flying'
- Jorja Smith - 'falling or flying'
Umm so does anyone have any updates on how this album did, units and streams wise? I find it strange that ChartData or even UK Charts accounts don't post her numbers like they do every other UK-based artist (FLO, Raye, Charli, Dua, Stormzy, Burna Boy, Dave, Central Cee).- SZA f/ Doja Cat - "Kill Bill (Remix)"
Spill. A lazy remix at that lmaooo.- SZA f/ Doja Cat - "Kill Bill (Remix)"
wtf was that? so lazily made. and no replay value.- Chlöe - 'In Pieces'
I agree but would say it's both. She alienated most CxH fans and formed a clique of stans who hype up every decision she makes and chalk every small comment to 'hating or cyberbullying'. After seeing the low stats, they're now sparking arguments on Twitter saying it's apparently Beyonce and Parkwood's fault 'for not being invested enough in Chloe's success'. And they're dead serious. It's always someone else's fault for why the GP doesn't support.- Chlöe - 'In Pieces'
Well This is why her stans need to stop ranting about a 'hate train' and 'haters' and actually get to streaming. After how much they spent 2021 through 2023 talking down on CxH's UGH streaming numbers, how she's too good to be 'stunted' by Parkwood, and told us she would outperform with her own solo album, I'm not shocked the results did not live up to the big game they talked up.- Chlöe - 'In Pieces'
Just terrible but I'm sure people will come in here lying that this is amazing. If I'm not mistaken, even the Ungodly Hour album did 2.9 mill on the first day with no big features and the exact same album length. The stats never lie. People are not actually interested in solo material.- FLO f/ Missy Elliott - "Fly Girl"
Well, the budget is giving! I don't want to judge based off the teaser, but my only worry is that I hope the 90s Destiny's Child cosplay doesn't become a thing with them. Because the teaser is already giving "Lose My Breath" by DC down to the T & this is after they tried to channel DC's "Emotions" music video for their last single "Losing You" as well. It's cute & all but I'm really hoping they don't start falling into the too on-the-nose tribute act territory. I want their team to start thinking out of the box a little more for their visuals & creative direction. The options are limitless.- Chlöe - "Pray It Away"
Welp. N/A on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes. I would've hoped it could've at least equalized with 'For The Night''s debut (455k streams) since she should've ideally had some extra eyes on her after the album announcement. But there's no need to sugar coat it atp. If the public didn't catch onto her former songs that were very intentionally created in hopes of mass consumption/virality and those still flopped, it's delusional to think the GP would suddenly give this song a chance. Good luck to her.- SZA Admits She Loves Midnights by Taylor
My point is that considering SZA's own Manager/Label President just called out Taylor for pulling "despicable tactics" (his own words), it's clear she & her team aren't actually fond of Taylor as much as she's backtracking for Stan Twitter with. We're not going to sit here and pretend like Mr. Punch's tweet wasn't meant as a direct shot aimed at Taylor, coming from SZA's camp lmao. So yes, it's lame AF to throw rocks and hide your hands, instead of just owning what you said. And I say that as someone who actually likes SZA more. Now carry on.- SZA Admits She Loves Midnights by Taylor
users falling for it like SZA isn't a known liar lmao mind you, she's liking comments on IG that incite the stan war and then comes on Twitter with the "peace & love" mess? sksksk- Is RAYE about to be the breath of fresh air the music industry needs?
eh, I don't see it happening. Escapism is a one-off hit for her. she may have smaller follow-up hits, but the chances to replicate one like Escapism are very slim given that: a) she's independent. i saw her saying she struggled to pay for her upcoming small tour, so it doesn't seem like she has the funds to properly afford consistent play listing, promotion, marketing, and other necessities to become an MPG. b) the Rihanna/Gaga/Amy/early 2000s cosplay is only going to take her so far. people always find it 'endearing' at first to see new artists who replicate older artists, but they'll start to switch up and use that same point against said new artist. soon, they'll push the infamous "she's not original" thing like everyone else who's tried to break out with this type of sound and image. I think she should focus on continuing to song-write for others and finding a unique solo identity/sound in the indie lane.- Bree Runway - 'WOAH, WHAT A BLUR!'
keep in mind that some of them doing the most in here were perched for that horrendous Saweetie EP Like bffr. and yes, the Stormzy track is especially beautiful ngl. I do hope she goes back to her pop-punk roots in the next full-length project, but I might need some more duets from Bree. this just made me more excited for that Khalid collab.- Chlöe f/ Latto - "For the Night"
The way this song did the worst of all the Friday, 10/28 releases Apparently even worse than that Ice Spice girl's release, who's actually independent and not backed by any major label like Chloe is, so we can't even use the "lack of label support and radio" excuse... This single was her last real chance at an album campaign to be kickstarted. But it's becoming clear nobody is truly checking up for her and her music, so shelved it is smh. - Jorja Smith - 'falling or flying'
