Just heard the japan bonus track for 'Night' (titled Yes) and it's a lowkey bop! Pretty much dethrones my favorite on the standard (Patience, Power, Passion)

That genuinely shocked me, I figured they'd hate D&N especially after reading their review for The Loveliest Time

I think the "weakest" song on the entire album is Don't Leave Me on The Dance Floor just because it's the most straightforward sounding one, otherwise, no notes actually. Kind of crazy how each side is cohesive, yet keeps that element when listening all the way through. Her power!

The 1 - 2 - 3 punch of Never Let a Good Thing Die, Amalfi Coast, and Patience Power Passion is insane

Okay, I know other users have said to not discuss Kiss anymore but I feel like expanding on my previous post just to share what I know: As it currently stands, the 19-track version of Kiss (which is the Japan Tour Edition excl. the remixes) was remastered into Dolby Atmos and uploaded to Tidal. As far as I could tell, it's the only streaming service that has Picture in that format. Basically, something happened behind the scenes for sure because I don't think Interscope would spend $350 ~ $750 per song just to not make the Tour Edition available for everyone, especially with not even including the bonus tracks in the 10th anniversary vinyl repress. And this is just speculation but whatever happened with Kiss' 10th anniversary behind the scenes definitely affected Emotion's 10th anniversary remaster since they only explicitly mention remastering the standard 12 tracks and ignored the bonus songs (which is odd, imo). Anyway, I had to rewrite this whole post over and over so it's not a massive wall of text so I hope I got my points across.

I feel like Kiss was supposed to have a big re-release since the 19-track Japanese Tour Edition was remastered, although it was only (quietly) released in the US on Tidal of all places.

Do I have 2 CDs and 6 vinyls of this album pre-ordered? Yes. Do I have the Japanese edition pre-ordered now as well? Yes.

Fifth single coming (possibly this week?), which is 'Versailles', the third track on Day.

Never Let a Good Thing Die being 5:19 long and is said to be explosive that immediately got everyone on the dancefloor at the listening party

I'm switching on the Night singles because they sound good af with my brand new headphones, sorry for doubting you queen

The Night side shaping up to be on par with her worst album (Dedicated) was not I was expecting after she described it to be "immersive" and "cinematic".

People who were at the listening party said this song is explicit

I do think there's a level of irony where the GP only has one image of Carly and that's Call Me Maybe, while a portion of her fanbase holds any current release in comparison to the Emotion album. It does put into question if those people like Emotion - the album, more than Carly Rae Jepsen the artist. Carly will never do another Emotion and I think people should accept that and give their love for that album to it rather than bringing it up as an already exhausted talking point for ~11 years; it's why the 10th anniversary got a one-night only show and not a whole tour. It was a send-off to an era that changed so much of her life, and as they say all good things come to an end at some point. I think it will be interesting reading more of the discussion post-release when we have the complete album officially out and see how the casual and die-hard audience responds to two contrasting sides of the album. I'm open to anything Carly does anyway so I'll end up loving this album like I do with her older stuff

This album is fantastic! Probably already in my top 3 Charli albums of all time.

My local record store is holding a listening party for petal and luckily it happens on my day off! So excited to hear the album

Charli is just an example of an artist that makes art that feels authentic to them, even if it the output may not stick with everyone. That's a lot more admirable to me than someone who's just making art for external validation and pleasing the most common denominator.

Carly herself doesn't want to be super famous. But, to answer further, I think part of Carly's charm is how mundane she can be; She's not this untouchable pop diva.
