People forgot that the Hot100 was 100% an airplay only chart from 2001-2004. No. 20 was a respectable peak for a song that was only sent for adds on one radio format (CHR/Pop) since there was no appeal to the other genres. To peak inside the Hot100 top10, a song would need to be added across multiple radio formats (Pop, Rhythmic, Urban, Hot AC, Urban AC, etc.), which was how Beautiful peaked at no. 2.

???? Mariah went to no.1 on Apple Music and debut at no. 25 just based on the strength of Apple Music alone since the song had virtually zero streams on Spotify. Kehlani is also killing it right now with strong Apple Music support.

Why are people acting like Spotify is the only music platform that exists? Artists like Glorilla, Kehlani, Summer Walker, Mariah all do badly on Spotify but still have a decent showing on the Hot100 and 200 since hip hop and R&B fares a lot stronger on Apple Music.
