I remember some of his posts from earlier in the year talking about Ray of Light part 2 (some fans would describe it as a rant). I also know he struggled with addiction. I remember reading a profile of him in a publication where he spoke openly about some of the darkest periods of his life. It was clear he wasn't doing well and that he was struggling. That's why I didn't understand why some people in his comment sections weren't more empathetic toward his mental health struggles and addiction. He clearly wasn't in the right state of mind. But he was a genius. And it's not just Ray of Light that stands as his great collaboration with Madonna. They also worked together on Beautiful Stranger, American Pie, Time Stood Still, and several tracks on Music. Even Masterpiece, which she got Golden Globe for. In fact, it just crossed my mind that if he had never collaborated with Madonna, I wonder whether I would have ever truly discovered her music to such an extend. I know I would have known who she was, of course. But it was Frozen, Nothing Really Matters, Ray of Light, and American Pie that drew me to her. That era of her music is what made me fall in love with her work. I'm sure I still would have known about Madonna, but his contribution to that chapter of her career is undeniable. It's hard to write a tribute because his legacy goes far beyond what he created with Madonna. He was one of those rare producers with a signature sound and style. I'm so, so, so sorry that he struggled. His work has inspired, and will continue to inspire, countless musicians and artists for generations. 💔

I knew Madonna was going to get less than three minutes, but I didn't expect it to be that short. It was very well done, though, but I hyped so many people up for this.. I won't even check my phone or notifications... Chris Martin and his pretentiousness are to blame!

WELL... I knew it..... But Madonna was great, and as someone said, her part was the most visually stunning. She should have gotten more time. Half of the other performances there were unnecessary.

I'm just gonna quote myself with an update from Stuart regarding touring this record.

As of now, there are only devastating updates regarding her FIFA performance. The original lineup of Madonna, Shakira, and BTS has been expanded at the last minute with a bunch of mediocre straight men. And we all know why that is: Because no one craves attention and validation more than straight men. And now WE ALL have to suffer because of it. Ughhh, I can't stand them anymore. We can't even have an 11-minute halftime show. They just HAD TO come in and ruin everyone's fun. I won't be surprised if we get some karaoke or a snooze-fest at the piano from some of them... So the update is that we could have had almost a six-minute Madonna performance, but not anymore. We'll be lucky to get three. And if they can all keep their egos in check, there might even be a joint performance at the end with some song about unity and peace. Personally, I think it should be either Hot Sauce or Good for the Soul. But that might be a little too ahead of its time for some people. So we'll probably get something predictable.
