That’s fine if people of other cultural backgrounds aren’t familiar with Brandy. The problem with folks in this thread is the complete invalidation of other races who do in fact know Brandy. That is a constant pattern on this forum. To make a generalization such as “No one of this generation knows Brandy” completely erases the black community young and old who by and large not only knows who Brandy is, but consider her an icon and trailblazer in R&B music. You want understanding that some people from different backgrounds may not know Brandy, but most of you don’t even consider the fact that she is known and popular by black people. Instead, you just say “no one knows her.” And the reason for that is because most of you don’t look outside of your own experiences.
