  1. Reposting my thoughts from the other thread: Not surprised. Everything I’ve heard from this soundtrack sounds atrocious. Ariana really needs to stop ****ting out all of this terrible music and sit down. Whatever happened to quality over quantity?
  2. If you're signed to a label for 7 albums, that does not mean you are forced to release 7 albums in your life. It means, you cannot leave the label until you have released 7 albums under them. That's all. If you recorded 2 albums, then decided to quit music, then they wouldn't be required to put a gun to your head Well obviously, but you would owe the label money since they’ve invested into you when you signed. You can’t just sign a contract and decide to quit without fulfilling the terms and not expect consequences. You’d either have to pay up or fight it out in court. Katy’s contract is probably expensive to get out of, but she obviously has the money being a multi-millionaire. Or, she could release GHs as you said, but who’s to say her label will allow her to do that? At the end of the day all of this is speculation since none of us really knows what’s happening behind the scenes; nor do we know the specifics of her contract.
  3. Her label probably won’t allow her to release a full record until she proves she’s worth investing in, which clearly isn’t the case with all of these consecutive bombs. She’s probably under a ton of pressure, and I just don’t see her having a significant commercial comeback hence why I suggested retirement as a major commercial artist.
  4. When you sign a label, aren’t you required to release a certain amount of music? If that were the case, all of these miserable artists who hate the fame + industry would’ve retired a long time ago. Kesha signed a 7 album deal with Luke and he’s fighting to hold her to those obligations. And no, retiring doesn’t mean stop making music. I mean retire as a major commercial artist, which would require her to get out of her contract with Capitol.
  5. You’re the only person creating this narrative that she’s “forced” to release music. I never once said that? Also, how could she just retire whenever she wants if she’s under a contract? If that were the case then why did artists such as Prince and Selena Gomez release vanity projects to get out of their obligations? Why is Kesha wrapped up in an intense battle with Dr. Luke to get out of hers? Katy can say she “wants” to release all these flop singles all day, but the fact remains that she’s a signed artist and has to fulfill the duties of her label like every other major artist.
  6. You’re misunderstanding my post. Clearly she’s releasing music to fulfill her contractual obligations whether she wants to release it or not. If I were her, I’d just go independent since it would alleviate a lot of pressure. It may not be forced labor, but it’s definitely the main incentive, which is why she’s been doing events with Capitol for most of these releases; in addition to the president of Capitol revealing that they have a “plan” after Witness flopped.
  7. This is sad. Can't she just buy out her contract and retire?
  8. Anyway, I’m curious to hear what that Demon Mitch McConnell had to say about the debate.
  9. Not necessarily. The Democratic Party has been fractured for decades now, and that even applies to the subsections of the Democratic party, such as the radicalized Left. AOC and Bernie definitely have differences in Target Audiences.
  10. Interesting. Pete’s aggressive approach appears to be getting good reception. Between AOC’a endorsement and this debate, Warren and Sanders should be fascinating to watch.
  11. Yes, that’s what I got from the NPR report I listened to. The debate seemed a bit unhinged for everyone. Things are really heating up.
  12. Is the consensus that Warren won the debate?
  13. This OTR streak is getting so boring. 2019 has been so uneventful in music.
  14. A lot of men are intimidated by strong, successful women.
  15. Y’all keep trying Beyoncé knowing her haters are her biggest motivators.
