Catching up on the results and y'all did THE Peggy Lee so dirty. She can put more personality into a single word than most of these other girls did across all 8 songs (Nina excluded, of course. Mostly looking at you, Sarah Vaughn). Forgot to include HM's but if I did it would've been for this experimental bop.

Haven't really been on ATRL much in years, but when I heard about this rate I knew I had to participate. Looove Peggy, Julie, and (especially) Nina. The first time I heard Light the Night Up I couldn't stop laughing poor girl, I need to stop by her house down the street and make her get her career back on track. I've loved every Goldfrapp album before this, but I just couldn't get into this one. There's only so many times you can make the same album Poppy/Sampha/Kesha are cute. SAT II is legit amazing, just such a refreshing album for rap this year.

I don't see how Masseduction isn't cohesive, every one of her albums is frontloaded with the more hard hitting songs and then peters out into the mid-tempos and ballads. I think it's her tightest release to date, there isn't a song I wouldn't want which I can't say about her previous releases. Surprised to see Susanne here since it's an all ballad album! I never really gave it a second chance tbh, will have to check it out again. Fever Ray is great, nice choice for #1

The Playboi Carti album was fun at times but tbh just not really my thing. I guess I like rap with more bleep bloops in them like RTJ/Yeezus? Sorrrry. The new proto-st. vincent album was reliably great of course...

I like Waxahatchee a lot, dunno why I forgot about her album. Calvin Harris and Perfume Genius were both unexpectedly good, experimented with some new sounds and it payed off!

Good spot for Kendick, critics are going overboard with the praise for him this year lol. I liked the Zola singles but the album just didn't stick with me?
