The reason why she announced like that is so that she could show, going into rooms with labels, that there was interest and momentum in her music career so she could get the biggest deal possible. My guess is they didn't get an offer they wanted so that's why it's taking a minute. Ultimately, labels know that it'll be impossible to recoup from an artist like J-Lo who will be very expensive to sign and marketing will cost a TON.
