It wasn't their singing, just the choreo looked awkward

K-pop choreographies just don't translate well to American TV unless they have 50 dancers in the back.

They executed the vocals and choreo just fine. The problem is that the song is truly awful as is the choreo, so that made for a bad and awkward performance. If they'd performed like Supernova or something with the same energy there would be no backlash

I will say stage presence has never been their strength. Something for them to continue to work on

Tiny news station stages don't work well for idol groups tbh

They did better than 99% of kpop artists on western TV

Some groups just do not look good without kpop camera work

I don't know them, but their performance felt a little lifeless. I'm a bit confused with others talking about their vocals, they seemed to be lip synching to me. It was not a good performance, but I've seen a lot worse than this.

The song was pretty shite though. Very vapid and amateur-ish. I sincerely hope this isn't how their music usually sounds.

I just gave both a listen, aespa is not for me I fear. I plain out disliked Supernova, Whiplash was alright.

But both are better than Rich Man.
