VCHA Rebrands as GIRLSET

Featured Replies

Widely rumored and just announced via their VCHA instagram page. For those unaware, VCHA was a western GG put together by JYP. 2 of 6 members have quit the group, citing abusive practices. The four other members, Camila, Lexi, Kendall and Savanna, remain.

  • Yes let's bring up facts. It's well documented what K-Pop companies do to their idols and the fact that you are vehemently defending a corporation that you have no ties to is just plain weird. Do you

NDAs don't count when one side is breaking the law. Overworking children and abusing them mentally and physically is very much illegal in California.

i feel like they would've gave up on them if KATSEYE wasn't doing so good, good for the girls ig

i don't think JYP knows how to handle a global gg and after all those legal issues idk.. one thing for sure is GIRLSET is a waaay better name than V(i)CHA

agreed. I'm surprised they're even trying again with this group given all the drama.

I hope they've changed their team completely after all the abuse allegations.

And thank god they got rid of the child (no offence to her).

new name finally, they look so much older now yeah all of them are 18+ now, i hope this turn out good for them

I have mixed emotions and I cannot fully support them until KG's contract is terminated and she's free.

last news was the court told KG to talk to JYP and resolve this so maybe she is out if she drops the case... anyway i am have mixed emotion about the 4 girls having the same staff you know.. i hope  that changed..

They look grown. Much better concept wise than whatever JYP was doing with them with that 12 year old :deadbanana4:

Torn here. They look good and it would have been a waste of their work but JYP is creepy and is he even gonna learn his lesson.

letʻs not pretend this is KGs fault for getting abused and calling it out :rip:

depends on what is defined as abuse. the judge has not disaffirmed the contract based on kg's claims. they were about to based on the camera and house policies but jyp clocked the exaggeration.

"calling it out" includes disclosing others private health information without consent to bolster her own case including detailing a su-cide method which is extremely irresponsible due to the werther effect?

I thought it was SRIRACHA or whatever the Stray Kids subunit is called that Pluto always spams. I was confused entering this thread. Still don't know who these girls are but I wish them the best of luck with this new rebrand!

Kinda brainless take, considering she's barely an 18 year old girl fighting a billion-dollar international corporation that has a huge team of lawyers, crisis specialists, PR professionals and media consultants on their side.

How I define abuse: Being forced to work over 60 hours a week AS A CHILD, being called lazy for wanting to rest for a moment AS A CHILD, being told you shouldn't eat because you'll look fat on camera AS A CHILD, being forced to work even tho your doctor recommended rest AS A CHILD, honestly I could go on but I don't have the whole day.

When you witness someone who's in the same situation as you try to commit su-cide because of the situation you're both in, it's not only necessary to raise your voice, but it might have saved that person's (who she hasn't named because she respects their privacy) life. What if that person tried to commit su-cide again, and succeed the second time?

Let's take away the emotion and focus on the facts.

KG's allegations of abuse predate her official employment/VCHA's debut in January 2024. She chose not to disaffirm the contract during the 3 month window after A2K's finale, when she could have walked away cleanly. Neither she nor her mother raised these issues to JYP until she filed a surprise lawsuit in December 2024.

And no, publicly exposing others' private mental health struggles without their consent is not saving them, it's exploiting them to win a lawsuit. It is defamatory and forces them to live with the stigma. KG effectively threw the group under the bus to serve her own case.

They look good. It seems they still want to give it their all in this group so I wish them the best.

You're making it seem like she was employed by McDonald's to make burgers.

If you think rationally, you'd understand the mental conflict of being flown to Korea, standing where biggest idols trained, living your dream while also being mentally and physically abused AT THE SAME TIME (should I mention she was a child?). It delays your ability to process what's happening. You're making it seem like it was years until she spoke up, but it was just a few months. Also, imagine finally getting your dream job, but when you start working you realize the environment is toxic and abusive. Would you quit on the first day, especially if the "benefits" seems like a dream come true? That's why speaking up isn't always immediate.
