Girl, Shawn mainly played piano, then he moved on to acoustic guitar. So they are similar, just Benson is more theatrical. As for why I used acoustic, he gives those vibes ever since he got the mullet and stache. Currently he doesn't stand out because there are so many piano playing, guitar-strumming and singer-songwriter male artists out at the moment. He has potential but needs to stop cosplaying 80s rock icons like Harry and gain his own lane. This is his third era at the moment. Walk Me Home To F&R, now this new era. Usually in artist's career, this is the prime time to experiment so you can retain your old fanbase and gain new one

 

As for Freddie, he isn't just known for stellar live vocals and fancy outfits, Queen was experimental for their time, giving us multi-layer instrumentals. Bruce's instrumentals and vocal style stood out from the rest of the pack since he debuted. Benson's do not. They sound very done to death and lacks personality. Benson unfortunately is straining his vocal cords whenever he tries singing Beautiful Things. Lyrically wise, Benson ain't touching Bruce or Freddie, from debut to final album those icons were very political. 

 

Both Bruce & Queen significantly changed their musical styles on their third eras (Sheer Heart Attack & Born To Run).
