It'll probably be a couple of years in court for them to get rights to the group name.

The girls can  termine their contract however it's more about the penalties, I hope this will not ruin them.

The biggest penalty is that they don't own the name (even moving forward), music, visuals… anything.

not sure how true that is .. 

i hope they get through this switch with as little issues as possible. it would be extremely unfortunate for them to fizzle out and disband when they have been giving such amazing music and garnered tremendous success 

Well at least they're free, but the fact they won't be able to own all the work they did in these past years is a bummer. 

 

I hope get under another label and keep making music, though

Sadly this is how kpop labels work. They run on ego versus common sense. SNSD got treated like trash during contract negotiations, even as going as far as decreasing security and they are one of the acts who put the label on the map.

SM right now is entirely a new management like the chances of them taking NJ is zero

 

Not to mentioned the company had the most bad track records when it comes to their artists

I don't like them but this is such a win for them. Korea loves them so this will only hurt HYBE  

They should just create a new name unless they can get it in the next 6 months. 

 

Best they start releasing new music ASAP.
