Lady Gaga - 'Harlequin'

World On A String is the highlight of the album, love the ska/lovers rock influence. When The Saints & Gonna Build A Mountain are also standouts but overall that's it for me. I don't like most of the songs anyway & the few i do (smile & CTY) are disappointing in comparison to the reworkings of the songs i first mentioned.

What the hell does "I don't have to adhere to an era if I don't want to" mean :dancehall3:

it means she can drop albums and not do singles and long eras I think. I think it also means she can jump from one album to another and back and forth meaning maybe even after LG7 is released she could maybe make one of the Harlequin songs a single after the LG7 lead or something like that maybe? idk it's vague but i dont think its a bad thing!

She really hates pop music huh :chick3:

I'm just kidding but we will see more like .6 album (side projects) and her pop album.

I hope she got this jazz solo album out of her system so we don't have to endure it in the future

Thats great actually, there should be no rules when it comes to art. But the 5 year gap between pop albums is something I'll struggle to get used to. She used to preach from the hills how she loved making pop music.  :chick3:

I'll definitely stream Happy Mistake and the Joker on heavy rotation though.

My Harlequin rating:

Good Morning: 6/10

Get Happy (2024): 5/10

Oh, When The Saints: 7/10

World On A String: 7/10

If My Friends Could See Me Now: 6/10

That's Entertainment: 7.5/10

Smile: 7/10

The Joker: 8.5/10

Folie a Deux: 9/10

Gonna Build A Mountain: 6.5/10

Close To You: 7/10

Happy Mistake: 7.5/10

That's Life: 6.5/10

Overall rating: 6.5/10

overall thoughts: Okay, its mostly not the kind of music I enjoy. Its more close to Love For Sale than I expected. I don't personally see myself going back to play most of these songs except for The Joker and Folie a Deux (and maybe Happy Mistake). I also don't expect this to be very successful commercially. I'm predicting a 7M Spotify debut and 55 to 65 on Metacritic. Oh well, back to DWAS and waiting for the LG7 lead for me.

Her Eras Tour is coming

Taylor made eras profoundly uncool so it makes sense she doesn't want to go near that concept

Suddenly the site is working seamlessly when this turned out to be trad pop and jazzy.

A win for me!

That's Life > The first half of the album

Wow she is such a chameleon, a true Queen. Just finished the album and what a timeless masterpiece, Tony would be so proud. Not my kind of music at all though so that will probably be my first and last listen but I can appreciate how undeniably talented she is and this made me want to see JazzGa live. I got both vinyls cause I will always support Queen no matter what she does.

Spoiler

ready to bop HARD to LG7, I listen to the "Garden of Eden" snippet atleast 5 times a day

Happy Mistake will be the only song charting on Spotify WW. But we all know that thanks to Grammy #1 Grammy and Love For Grammys' streams. OGH will be happy for a day but let them talk

Well most fans are streaming. I didnt care about both her jazz albums but this one got my streams immediately.
