BlackoutZone Posted May 3 Posted May 3 The way her useless ass team forgot to add clean versions of the album to streaming while the only explicit track is is getting the main push 1 1
Baby Judas Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Heard These Walls from the NMF playlist. This one doesn't sound like a typical Dua song, I love it.
UnusualBoy Posted May 3 Posted May 3 How looooooooong, how long Can it just keep getting better? Can we keep falling forever? How loooooooooong, how long Can we stay like this together? Can we keep falling forever? 2 1

IBeMe Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Watcha Doing is the highlight of this album. She put RADICAL CRACK in that song! 3

STMG23 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I like the album. It actually clicked more on day 1 than FN did tbh. Maybe there are not the ultimate smashes here but good pop songs definitely. I still think they should not have released three pre-singles. They at least should have saved Illusion. 3
mike_int Posted May 3 Posted May 3 (edited) Here is my review after first day if listening: As someone who has been absolute fan of the three so far released single the overall album and the direction was a bit surprise for me and honestly also a slight disappointment. This disappointment however comes with my personal high expectation based on singles we go so far and based on the long break between FN and RO. From my humble opinion "Whatcha Doing" with its heavy funk bass and 80s bells in chorus could be B-side for "Dance The Night, "French Exit" which is very monotonous and repeating without any progression and ridiculously short and unfinished sounding "Anything For Love" are the weakest 3 of the album. Three highlights of the album, excluding the three already released singles, are: "These Walls", dreamy summer Harry Style-esque piece which gives me similar feeling as "Cool" by Gwen Stefani in terms of bittersweet feeling of breakup when you knew you did everything you could but maybe its best to let the each other go and you are looking forward whats next. "Falling Forever" - sonically only song which production vise would fit into the group of already released 3 singles, with its heavy drums and strong vocals, however for some people maybe overwhelming is definitely one of the candidate for next single. "Maria" is very reminiscent to "This Time Is Now" by legendary Moloko with its heavy acoustic guitar and bass with little electronic elements and it would be do great as single worldwide except US. Overall album is good piece of work, with it highs and low, however for someone who has been listening Houdini, Training Season and Illusion on repeat daily since they were released, eight new tracks dint bring the wow factor you would expect from Dua , as a pop powerhouse she became after Future Nostalgia. 1. End Of An Era: 8.5/10 2. Houdini: 9/10 3. Training Season: 10/10 4. These Walls: 8/10 5. Whatcha Doing: 7.5/10 6. French Exit: 5/10 7. Illusion: 10/10 8. Falling Forever: 8.5/10 9. Anything for love: 5/10 10. Maria: 9/10 11. Happy for you: 6.5/10 Overall: 8/10 Edited May 7 by mike_int 3
Kristie Kuwa Posted May 3 Posted May 3 In an ideal world, she performs Anything For Love (Extended Version) and These Walls on SNL. Anything for love really shows a vulnerable, yet playful and unique side to it. It just needs to be longer and expand on the second half. These Walls can become a MAJOR hit for Dua if she plays her cards well. 2
IBeMe Posted May 3 Posted May 3 This does sound like vacation music tbh! Reigna de la Vacanza served a good concept! End of an Era and Watcha Doing are excellent. The whole album sounds good while on a walk in this nice warm weather we have today tbh. I can imagine it being even better when its warm enough to be at the beach. 1
NoOneDiesFromLove Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Is it weird that some of the tracks remind me of Champagne Problems by Katy Perry
tomo Posted May 3 Posted May 3 I love this record. Maybe it gave the wrong impression of what to expect. But I find it refreshing for her to go back to Debut Lipa a bit with the more laidback songs. Happy For You Are we getting the extended of these other songs?
UnusualBoy Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Happy For You is amazing, it has this euphoric and spring-ish vibe that I love.

BrokenMachine Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Well, it was already time for me to take a break from ATRL I love every song from the album, it's really cohesive and well done. It just doesn't have 'stand out' moments that scream smash aside from Houdini and TS. And well, there are not enough 'psychedelic' moments, the influences are on each song, but they're not enough, I even dare to say FN had more psychedelic moments than this Overall the album is great. If this is her 'album for the fans,' let that be it 1 2

Hephaestus Posted May 3 Posted May 3 For anyone wondering, the signed art card appears to be CD sized even for those who bought the vinyl
Peak Now Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Stupid question but why does she pronounce "era" like "error"? I thought it was "ee-ruh"
Cheers Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Anything But Love Is the only song I straight up dislike The album is slower than I thought it would be. This seems like it's something that will grow over time! 1
tellyourfriends Posted May 3 Posted May 3 sooo what is the countdown for?? is it tour? cause the link says "dua.live". thoughts?
