Oh it's finally coming! So she's basically scrapped the original material for the album and is releasing an EP of the best songs from the original project?

im excited to get new material but I really hope she manages to get a full length album out…

The hashtag being NHF? No hard feelings, maybe?

I thought she wouldn't release around Perrie :deadbanana2:

Do we think this is realistically going to get any kind of single treatment or promotional push?

Personally I think she'll drop this (and the rest of the EP) with minimal noise just to appease the fans and then I think the label will maybe invest one more time in a rebrand and try to launch the album with a new “lead single" with a completely different musical direction… if that then also flops, I'm not sure how much more the label will invest in her.

I really want this to work out for her, looking forward to checking out the final version.

So this is all happening because DSL and ML flopped.

I'm not happy to read in her newsletter that her album is “quite finished yet". That means it ain't coming out this year guys. I don't know why these girls in the music biz just release song after song and no album in sight. Very weird.

It's not them. It's the label.

And I "kinda" get it.

No label is gonna invest in releasing a $10 album when the artist can't sell a sufficient sum of $1 singles.

It's a business.

Similarly, even if Leigh is partially funding her own ish (as seems to be the case), it's a big financial risk going all out with an album release if the data shows there's limited interest/returns in the singles.

I think the real question is why these artists keep signing these same deals with labels without mandating a compulsory album release after x window of time. Because a flop album that was released in a timely manner will always be better than sitting dormant on a label without an album in sight.

Her news letter says this is coming this week, so is this actually out on Friday and not the 29th?

the snippet she posted on insta of what I assume is the intro to the song sounds good (vocally, vocal production wise) but that wah wah wah waaaaaah sound effect is going to GRATE on me, I can already tell :rip:

The fact that Warner are even going ahead with an EP shows that they are still invested in her and are taking steps to get her in a stronger position for an album. Of course it remains to be seen how things will play out in the future, but it doesn't seem they have lost faith in her. They could have just dropped her already but are actually going forward with a project.

Yes I suppose it's a good thing she's still able to release a project even if it's not the full length album that she had intended, but I do wonder if they're releasing this in the hopes that it'll somehow catch on and reignite interest before they commit to a full length album?

I am very interested to hear the full length project and see what direction she (and her label) have decided to take for that. I am expecting a pretty rapid change in sound and style for her full length album. Let's hope it does indeed come out during the summer as she intends.

Why is it so hard to just announce a date? Between Leigh & Perrie these endless teasers are getting so annoying lol. I'm guessing it's Friday but I believe she is officially announcing this today?

Posted

I'm so baffled, she sent a message via her WhatsApp channel saying she was going to exclusively reveal the release date there first and asked people not to tell anyone else…. And apparently the "reveal" was some kind of cryptic message where you had to try and decipher the code to work out the date yourself?

Just announce the damn release date, my god. Maybe I'm just old and miserable but constant cryptic teasers and clues and endless teasing isn't the serve these marketing teams think they are, it's just annoying. Also "revealing" your release date but asking people not to tell anyone seems a bit silly? Why would you want less people to know when your song is coming out?

Anyways, now that I've ranted.. it appears this is actually dropping on Thur 28th

The label is straight up setting her up. So many poor choices right & left especially sending her to the US for promotion during both single releases :deadbanana2:

Thursday is not a good idea Leigh :cries:

You need all you can for the initial tracking week, hopefully we can chart.

She looks great but all I get is BLAHHHH

They probably already know it won't chart

I actually quite like this little snippet, lol.

It's not going to be a big pop banger, but I actually think this style of music suits her voice much more. I will of course reserve judgement until the full version is out. It doesn't sound like it will be a hit from the snippets (if I'm keeping it real) but I am cautiously optimistic that I'll enjoy this one.

If the EP isn't for you, I'm almost 100% sure once this is out of the way she'll "re-launch" in the summer with a new sound as I reckon these are just the scraps of the original album which has since probably been re-worked after her first two singles flopped..

Its 99% sure that the label will drop her after this EP is out

She is flopping hard and probably they decided to release some of the songs she recorded and then to part ways

Its sad but its the reality . Thinking that she will drop and EP and then release an album is just being delusional

Posted

Im really sorry for Leigh but she is not strong enough as an artist to be soloist

All her performances were bad . She looked like a 18 yo girl going to American Idol

I really cant wait for the other girls to finish with their projects and re unite

1 new full length album from Little Mix is whats keeping me alive

If her label were already planning to drop her they wouldn't be financing the release of an EP :deadbanana4: That just makes no sense

I am not sold on these snippets. I think her singing sounds quite nasally in a sense that I don't really like ? I don't know…

I have to listen to the full thing but I fear it will be a big decline for me personally after DSL and ML which I really loved

I agree with this, if her label wanted to drop her they would have done it by now (look at Jesy..)

I also don't think we're ever going to get a new Little Mix album but that's a different conversation. I know most people here aren't feeling the snippets or the material so far which is a shame but I still have some optimism for this song. Forbidden Fruit sounds pretty bad though..

Isn't she already funding herself too? As I think the releases are part her own label and Warner?

I also do not think her label will be in a rush to drop her but mainly for diversity reasons.

I personally think it is way tooo soon for a Little Mix reunion, I really want to see all four do their thing for a while, whatever that may be.

I would honestly love a four-piece reunion, I understand i'm in the minority but something felt missing with just the three. Maybe because there was limited choreo on the Confetti tour and TERRIBLE music videos 'No', 'Love (Sweet Love)' etc.

People can say whatever they want about Jesy but she got a Top 5 and i've enjoyed each release of hers but it looks like she's pretty much given up. When asked about when she'd release new music she said 'when she wants to', girl is busy travelling the world, i'm glad she seems happier and healthier (and whiter).

Posted

the plan was always to have her release a full length album, to their surprise both singles did terribly so they pulled the plug on that, contrary to what she's saying about these being "songs that fit together in their own world" these are indeed tracks from what would have been her debut

also if you didn't enjoy SL / FF snippets you won't like the full versions, they go nowhere

I got lost in this NHF club stuff and I missed the fun friday. Is Stealin Love being released this upcoming week?
