It was already selected as a single for a while and it’s scheduled for the end of August as the following single to Flicker.

nope, unfortunately it seems that Flicker won’t come anymore

Something about Knockoff isn’t working for me. Like it sounds good but I feel the production could be sharper maybe? The production verges on generic EDM at parts which I don’t love

I don’t like the chorus. I think it should go harder tbh.

Right? It feels like everything’s the same volume and nothing really sticks out. Like all the sounds are there, the mix is just very chunky and thick so nothing cuts through

The two songs released are a slay. Church Outfit > Knockoff.

 

Never listened to Poppy before, is her other music in this vein as well? Any recommendation?

My favorite Poppy album is Flux - it’s pure alt rock, giving live vibes etc. 

 

Her debut is more pop, while “I disagree” is very much metal. Both are awesome too

 

also her eps are good like EAT and that one that has Choke on it

Flux is an IT girl  So many amazing tracks.

I feel like generally I really enjoy her albums but she's so bad at picking lead singles. They tend to be either the weakest or my least favorite from her albums. I feel like she tries to do the "lead single is the most subversive choice for the album" approach but it usually leads to a near false start for me most of the time, lol. Church Outfit was fine but I much prefer Knockoff, very industrial but sleek.
