The "just hits" playlist she's covering shot to #1 on her "Discovered On" playlists. I think it helped.

it didn't went viral on TikTok and a few playlists would not help it gain so many streams overnight + it has also been removed from many NMF playlists. yesterday it received 2 times more streams than on Wednesday(702,786). streams don't raise so fast.
there is also Rita Ora's song that on Wednesday was doing less than 300k and yesterday received almost 850k streams. 
something similar happened last month with a few songs.

last time it lasted about 2 weeks then one of these songs lost 1.3M streams overnight but at least it was added to TTH.

Uuh thanks for clearing that up, but what do you reckon is the cause of it? Do you think it’s some kind of payola or is it that people picked up on the song??

Spotify has autoplay as default option. this autoplay works in such a way that when one song ends the next one starts playing. according to Spotify it's personalized, so the next song should be similar to the music someone is listening to but lately many users get the same songs.

There are very obvious indicators that people like the song: stability on Youtube/iTunes, positive comments from the people on social media. 

 

If RCA had been doing some payola, they could have done it for NGNDA.

Hopefully, she doesn't have anything to do at this moment. What else would she do if she doesn't perform at Grammy
