I was just matching up hits from both decades that felt similar. Heat Waves and Somebody That I Used To Know being huge break out pop hits for an indie/alternative artist, Telephone and WAP being collabs that feature two huge female artists, What Makes You Beautiful and Dynamite being boy band hits, etc. Blinding Lights doesn't match any of the 2010's songs that I picked, neither does Leave The Door Open.

It was the correct approach, especially since it makes it easier and more fair to compare the songs. Congratulations on the pairings, by the way. Very inspired choices like "Last Friday Night" and "Levitating" both being party anthems from two iconic imperial eras of each decade, plus "Don't Wanna Go Home" and "BREAK MY SOUL" being put together thanks to the "Show Me Love" samples.

 

"Blinding Lights", "Good Days", and "Leave The Door Open" are simply on a league of their own, just like "Rolling In The Deep", Usher's "Climax", and "Bad Romance" for the early 2010s.
