Anyway, no, demand was there, the gp just didn’t connect with the music as simple as that, people come and say that 21 and 25 sound like 30 but they’re far different and the gp noticed that.

That Drake comment is obviously taken out of context since she was referring to about 10 people who were "doing it like them". I'm sure Taylor Swift was one of the people she was referring to.

 

The only reasons why 30 underperformed (for her standards) is that she waited too long to put out new music, music consumption changed and also some people who were previously buying her music en masse didn't see her as relatable anymore because of the image change. It didn't help that the music wasn't very easy to get into - no hit songs and very personal lyrics. 

 

She also obviously doesn't care about all this, I actually think she's glad that people are not placing the same expectations on her anymore. I do hope she doesn't wait 6 more years to release again though.

People always make fun of Mrs. Carter's unreachable goddess persona, but she started doing that after establishing herself and building a decently sized fanbase. Then she went on to tarnish her ~relatable lady~ image with the questionable interview comments, the vinyl factory mess, that star-studded concert she did (it was completely against her brand) and finally the Vegas disaster. People want funny and down-to-earth Adele, not the snobby LA celebrity version of her.

 

I've done my fair share of trolling after November 2021, but I really do like a few songs off 30 and believe that she's far from "over" for now. She just needs to get rid of yes-men, hire better PR people (and listen to them!), start actively interacting with her fans and maybe get out of the Hollywood scene for a bit.

I agree with this, but at the same time people were eating up her Insta live before Easy On Me came out. I don't think the interviews did her that much harm the GP doesn't really watch interviews or follow comments about vinyl factories. I just think people are very judgemental and didn't like that she lost weight so they automatically assumed she's an LA gurl now.
