With the new releases of Stranger things and Top Gun Maverick, 1986 nostalgia is going hard, so let's talk about music from this year. We got Madonna's Papa Don't Preach and True Blue. Tho, my favorite song that smashed during that year was actually "Take my Breat Away" from Top Gun's OST (even tho I didn't like that movie much, the sequel is much better). How about you?

1986 is the year Hip-hop really started to break through in the mainstream, and street style made a mark. Run DMC were obviously at the forefront.

 

New Jack Swing as well, especially because Janet's Control was a major album that year.

 

Also this bop, probably my favorite Top 10 hit of 1986.
