Facts we need a new Black female AND male artist in R&B / Hip Hop. They gotta be multi talented, passionate about they work, and hungry for stardom.

Thats no disrespect to the current gen or up and coming names, but its like no one wants to be star anymore. Its very much they have a cute TikTok moment then fade OR get famous and go into this indie/unlikeable phase and chose not to be commercial – granted the industry plays a role but damn.

Yeah you get me, I still support all the newbies because the music isn't bad, but the drive us lacking and we can easily see/feel it.

Being independent is great, but we do need great artists in the mainstream too. The mainstream has always kept genres alive and been a reflection of its status, so we need younger acts to fill those Usher, Beyonce, Kanye, etc,. Positions. Men and women, gotta step it up.

And we should come down on labels more when these artists that are putting an effort in tell us about label issues.

It's a bunch of BS.

Every single form of entertainment and genre of music has bigotry in it cause that's the world we live in, it's only unacceptable or unlistenable when it's Black people though.

Mind u they will go up for a YT artist who admires Black culture, cosplays, or delivers a watered down version of what true R&B and Hip Hop music is. :deadbanana4:

Literally racist pop stars get a pass for the **** all the time, the posturing about taking a stand against rap music in particular is fake as hell. It's the whole Black people have to have perfect politics otherwise we're disposable ****. I don't **** with that at all. Y'all have your messy ass favorites just the same but are quicker to humanize them, we're not dumb.

Hip Hop & R&B alone gives Pop it's pulse, everything else is noise. Leech culture fr.

The Tone Stith & Sid The Science Kid lashings:dies::bibliahh:

Tone Stith has a good voice but the songs I've tried listening to from him are very boring. Wierd H.E.R. hasn't collabed with him to try to him break out outside of having him as a opening act for her tours

This be the story for a lot of people, everybody thinks they're a songwriter and producer.

They also lack some taste.

I apologise for the thread, I should've known better and just searched Reddit or something. I complain about racism here but I should've known I was asking for it asking that question on here.

Reddit would’ve been equally bad lol.

Its cool my anger wasn’t toward you, its just threads like those open the floodgates to users being racist and stereotyping.

Tbh I’m okay with hip hop being chill rn. Much like other genres, it allows new gen and underrated names to push their work w/o being overshadowed by big names (like Drake, Kanye, Kendrick, Cole, Travis, Nicki, Cardi, etc.) In 2023, hip hop still doing quite well – I think its moreso non-rap stans aren’t really checking for Metro, Tjay, Thugger, Toosi, Durk, Dave, Central Cee, Uzi, Ice, etc. Their rhymes might not be as great as the rappers we know & love but with time they will blossom and be more known.

Spoiler

Its the body for me :smitten:

:lmao:

I like Ice Spice, similar to GloRilla & Cench their weakest rhymes made the most noise. But they all have lil moments where I see potential (prob explains how the veterans are grooming/collabing with them) + they looks, TikTok, and good personalities is boosting their following. I’ma wait til they drop more material to see if they serious or just here for the moment.

I don't really **** with how OGs and new Uncs aren't giving cosigns to NBA Youngboy. Drake, Kendrick nor Cole have a song with him, and it's very clear he is the chosen one of his generation.

Tone Stith can only dream of dropping a song of this magnitude of quality

I meant H.E.R collabing with him with her as main artist, not the other way around. And that Could've Been remix doesn't count since he wasn't topping that Bryson verse.

If I remember correctly, NBA x Cole was finna happen around The Off Season era but he left Cole in the studio for 8hr. :skull: Then allegedly dissed him afterwards.

Tbh I never seen NBA collabing w/ Cole or Kendrick. They have different styles in terms of production & delivery + they give me the vibe artists seek them not the other way around. Drake is the only option I see fitting since hes the streaming God and quicker to connect with the newcomers but I think Drake declined due to the whole Durk issue. :rip:

I feel like if Durk and Cole can work so can Cole and Youngboy, but I forgot about that off season thing, so at least Cole tried. I wish they'd squash the **** but as long as YB is cool with Quando I don't think it'll happen.

I didn't expect Kodak Black on a Kendrick album but these folks are all more versatile than we think imo. Migos, Future and Tyler being the only "commercial" acts to feature him... is a choice.

That being said... He needs some musical guidance, chile some of these recent projects are not it. Someone needs to be his Dr. Dre (who EP'd GKMC-TPAB-DAMN) but it seems the industry don't really **** with him. Oh well.

Hopefully the second half of the year has more exciting projects from big name rappers/singers cause the first half been kinda zzz. I know y'all saw Rocky dissing Travis :ahh:
