i guess the old earpads just didnt seal well which made the noise cancellation bad oh wow

She probably wanted to break out, and doing the Swift relatable songwriting crap seems like the surest way to do that, unfortunately. But yeah, I wish she'd keep carving her lane in Squeeze's direction, nobody's (at least out of solo acts) really doing that kind of sound nowadays.

did she not think about how stupid that would be? I guess not...Squeeze also had SOME songs that were hinting towards that direction but everything was very subtle and it just worked. It's sad because you wouldn't expect these type of artists to be that desperate.

 

She would've have a better chance at breaking out if she had continued in the direction of Squeeze for sure
