STOP IT with the (Insert Act) During (Artist) Concert Threads

2024 US Election Megathread 🇺🇸🏛️

Message added by Lee!!,

It was decided based on feedback from the spring 2023 town hall to transition this thread back to being election specific. With the Civics section being able to house specific threads on many issues, we think having a generalized politics thread is not completely necessarily anymore.

With that said, please continue to be respectful and remember that you do not always need to respond to everyone.

It's funny how moderates can proclaim their displeasure with Biden and no one berates them. But leftists are "immature idiots who want Trump to win" for even daring to criticize him. Not even saying they won't vote for him, just for criticism. :rip:

But leftists are widely saying they won't vote for him. Which is idiotic, if you live in a state that could go either way.

Who is going to force people to eat the spicy food? Do you think that's how elections work?

Sorry but if anyone thinks Biden's winning the rust belt where inflation has probably hit them the hardest then I don't know what planet you're on. His campaigning on the "success" of Bidenomics will hurt him even more:rip:

Well, at least we know it's not that issue. Thankfully Americans still have some sense to prioritize their own wellbeing over those of foreigners beefing 3,000 miles away.

That said, I think these negative sentiments are still largely economically driven. And, in particular, related to the cost of housing. Forcing YIMBYism has to become a top priority for Democrats. Especially considering the housing crunch is most acutely felt in blue states.

That NYT poll, the vote splitting, and the voter profiles all reaffirm what I've been saying in here for months: most people dislike Biden because he's old, looks old, acts old, and people are worried he may die at any moment, and they're just making up nonsensical and contradictory reasons for why they're not voting for him because they don't want to admit that's the real reason. Every other major "political issue" that the media will frame as determining this election is a red herring.

This is exactly what the left wanted with the whole "Roe was repealed under Biden!" rhetoric.:rip:

We haven't forgotten Biden himself was going to endorse a anti abortion judge then switched last minute:toofunny2:

It seems he, himself doesn't take Roe seriously enough.

Maybe if he had a well liked VP he'd be perceived better but the Dems ****** up with the Biden/Harris ticket.

Things like this judge non-issue just highlight how the leftist canon that "Biden hasn't done anything" is set in stone no matter what he actually does.

Imagine getting hung up on a judge who wasn't nominated, while ignoring the 134 others who were. :rip:

I like to think leftists have some beliefs beyond the destruction of the Democratic Party, but when people tell you who they are…

Oh my Greatest Hits are hitting! :gaycat5:

Similar to how only Fetterman could run a campaign whose singular focus is on the address of his opponent's houses.  :gaycat6: Had it been Lamb who, as a candidate had gone to Harvard, had a stroke, was pro-fracking and supported Israel, doing the same thing, we'd be hearing from the left about how he's an out of touch elite who refuses to talk about the issues.

And then rihannasbiggestfan would post edited videos of him like this

Then I would point out that it doesn't matter as long as he gives Dems a bigger majority in the Senate, and someone would accuse me of being rich. :gaycat6:

Luckily, normie Libs are less aesthetically driven and understand the political stakes elections have.

Now Mr. Armani has me going down memory lane. Mind you this was BEFORE the election.

Biden taking a less pro-Israel stance has baited Trump into reaffirming how he was the most pro-Israel president in the history of this country and how he would double down on supporting Netanyahu. Just a reminder that they even named a settlement in the Golan Heights after him.

Trump will help Bibi "finish the job" if elected while Biden is doing his best to restrain him, to varying levels of success sadly.
