The only thing I can think of is that they’re waiting to drop it all once new music comes to maximise the boost in streams of her discography. But I don’t think that’s necessarily the best strategy?

 

IILTYW going viral was a nice moment for the navy and was making a genuine impact to her number of streams. It’s like we can’t have anything lol

The only explanation I can think of is that they're waiting for r9 to come out so they can turn it into this big "it's all happening at once, finally!" moment. That or Rihanna herself has personally forbidden her discog from being available on any app because she hates music etc.

Probably Rihanna is getting a bigger share of the streams than the rest of the artist on the other platforms (iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal....) And she preffers having a bigger income from them, that make much more money, than the little she is gonna get from Tiktok or Instagram.

 

Especially, knowing that the songs played on tiktok trends are usually distorted and unofficial remixes and mashups.

 

She is a bussinesswoman, and she does that pretty great, so she is probably getting one of the biggest shares on the 'big music platforms' maybe because of that 'exclusivity' and she preffers it that way.

 

And this is the last step she needed to become multibillionaire.

That all sounds logical but it feels like an oversight given songs going viral on TikTok also imply gaining wayy more streams on Spotify (and every other streaming platform), like it happened with IILTYW; she was making no money from that song and now she is, thanks to TikTok. Idk, it's all around silly.
