Not saying that LMU is going to be a classic like LOTB, but her live performances always elevated her ballads. I’m sure the Oscar’s won’t be an exception.

But sincerely listen to the song as a part of a film and what it represents. And that is what LMU did. 

 

You may like more poppier Rihanna. Or even dislike Rihanna above everything else. 

 

But it's a song selected by the biggest film critics in the world. And not a mediocre song gets a nomination like this. 

 

Listen to the rest of the songs selected and objectively think of which one is better? 

 

Not naatu naatu... That's for sure... But naatu naatu in the film makes sense, and represents a big part of the film. And so does Lift Me Up. That's why it is up there. And why she is choosing to stand by it

It’s my personal opinion. Accept it or not, I don’t really care 

LOTB was an instant classic and not comparable to LMU though 

forget rih winning or naatu naatu or even gaga, poor diane warren is also nominated and it seems like another loss for her.
