I think that people's frustration is regarding her potential, no her competition.

We know she's capable of much more (musically, success-wise), but since she doesn't need to do much to be above almost everyone else, she's not motivated to do so.

It was a single in name only. Ever since the BT era, her label only gives proper single treatment to two songs. But yeah, it sucks that it wasn't even part of the tour set list.
