I don't see why she couldn't snatch a nom for "All Yours" at the very least

Lydia and Normani are just a joke at this point. Can't believe Fashion week looks had y'all gagged as if she release a MV or had a charting song or performances.

Plus she has such a bad use of her socials. She is always posting random **** her fans don't care about so either some get exited for nothing or they don't play her stories because we know nothing will be exciting. The whole era I can't think about a smart thing she did.

Every year it's the same sh*t I really don't know what to say anymore.

Yep. I told yall either she's making a plan to leave or she's waiting till the top of the year. I personally feel like we are just due another album at this point. I like Dopamine but the whole "big production" aspect felt like a waste if she doesn't deliver something. I think she should've released CP a long time ago. I'm not sure if RCA's moved on or what. Because Victoria is barely selling as well but she seems to get budget and green lit for everything. She even has a deluxe album. I'm just confused. Even if she does release a visual album it would be in the midst award season where everyone's going to be releasing lead singles. I just wished she was more interactive. I'm just saying; you can get on live for a couple of minutes or even reply to some tweets. Like we've been saying free promotion.

this whole situation is so sad and frustrating 😔

That's why I can't find it funny that she says her manager is the one saying her to promote her album or when shades her own songs, because it shows she don't care and have no respect for her art and us. But y'all are ok with everything she does and attack fans that are calling her behavior out, of course she will never change.

I'm actually confused about the Victoria Monet sitution, like can someone enlighten me? Because folks are out here acting like she's got next but she's not actually selling? Or is she? Like how are her streams? Her album sales? Where is the hype coming from?

To be honest, I don't think there are any break out R&B stars. The only Black(ish) girl getting big buzz right now in the mainstream is Tyla and even that will start to run out unless she gets another hit. Right now everyone just talking about Chappel and Sabrina and maybe Charli XCX along with the old hats who've been in the industry for years like Bey, SZA, etc. If anything, the rap girlies are having much more success right now than Victoria, Chloe, Halle, Coco, and Normani.

But if Victoria isn't doing much better than Normani then why is the industry giving her what she needs while ignoring Mani? Why is the label pushing her and not Mani? What's going on here?

I agree personally that if Mani says she hates a song, like then shouldn't I not stream it? Wouldn't me not supporting it make her happy as a fan? She needs to think about what she actually wants.

Victoria had a hit last year so she has some buzz around which Normani doesn't have right now. Her last successful song was back in 2021, 3 yo ago. I think nation needs to realize that people move on, forget even tho they sometimes feel nostalgic about things time to time. Y'all think she can still totally ride of the wave of motivation and wild side, songs from at least 3yo ago.  If you aren't visible during the current time people will forget about you and find a fun and interactive celeb to stan. This isn't the case at all with Normani. Most of us been here since 5h days or love lies days, it's just commitment. If we knew her last year we would never be that supportive because we get nothing but lies and silence. Nothing is fun about stanning her, everything is just suffer.

Victoria had on my mama last year and is performing at many many festivals. Normani doesn't. She isn't visible at all and you ask yourself why we invest more into Vic? You are clearly downplaying her but if people does it to Normani watch yourself throw a fit…

I still pray one day you will stop acting like Normani is a victim and isn't responsible to her flopping. Y'all always get jealous of other acts when they get opportunities as if Normani didn't have all that at the beginning of her career which was deserved.

Normani is flopping because she is delusional

she and her people think she is a superstar

- she thinks she doesn't need to connect with her fans to have success (she has the same approach of promo as Beyonce but needs to realize she isn't her at all)

- she thinks she doesn't need to use her socials to promote her art because she think she was born at the wrong time or watever she said

- she thinks it's okay to drag her own songs

- fans are babying her all the time and finding excuses for her

Conclusion : In 2024, Normani isn't in the current topics. No hit songs, no videos which is her biggest asset, no visibility, zero connect with her fanbase. So nation needs to stop acting surprise when acts like Vic Monet, who had a successful song in 2023 and is performing everywhere, is having « more » opportunities than Normani. Mani isn't gonna always ride on the wave of her past success. People move on quickly.

She makes zero effort to grow anything weither it's her fanbase or her sales. Just unserious and it's not funny at all. Next time it's better for her to stop complaining about not be being heard or seen during 5h yet you have an album you make zero effort for being seen or heard.

and Lydia… why would you promise things that never happen. What is her conception of shortly ? Didn't we wait long enough ?

And fans need to stop being so damn sensitive when someone is doing to critique to Normani. Many are RIGHT even if they aren't necessarily fans of her. This « she isn't problematic to people, why are they speaking about her » type of discourse when someone is giving a valid critic is tiring.

I noticed she lost 200k IG followers from the start of her album "rollout"

Victoria isn't a huge seller, but she got herself a hit last year and worked the hell out of it.

She was already touring small venues, but she has really established herself as a performer.

Even though her Deluxe version didn't chart, she could announce a tour tomorrow (2-5k venues) and it would largely sell out.

Basically, she did all the things we wish Normani would have done and now is in a position we wish Normani was in.

Edit: Victoria has also been around as a songwriter for many years. She's paid her dues many times over. I believe her "breakthrough" is a combination of her investing in herself (likely literally) and the label giving her the push she deserved ONCE she had a hit.

Victoria's trajectory is also one of the reasons I find it so hard to believe that Normani can't do anything else than attend fashion shows and sing 5 songs at an UGG event.

Probably just IG cleaning up bots. Happens to all accounts periodically.

I like Victoria but she isn't doing anything better or more innovative than Mani. My issue is what did Normani do to piss the label off? Like I know she didn't like Motivation and she was dragging her feet to release. But she was literally green lit so many projects in the span of 2 years. Now she's sitting at home waiting for the next c-list celeb party to show up at. Like; she had so much hype that to me if she only had dealt with the dislike for pop for an album she could've been on Doja or maybe a Summer Walker level. Like I'm getting tired of the waiting games and then on top of that she keeps mentioning this damn movie but it's no where near premiering. Like wtf is she waiting for? Like she can't mention her trying to release these mv's or tease us about possible collabs? Everything is so hush-hush but yet still nothing happens.

Those « it's the label fault » discourse are truly tiring. She does NOTHING on socials and her manager booked her nowhere.

She actually had more followers than Dinah and Ally so im surprised they surprassed her again

She should just drop the videos. All Yours promotion for Winter/Spring and really have another album ready like by next Summer and pull a Ariana Grande/Justin Bieber.

Exactly, do a small tour for Dopamine to help rebuild the fanbase. Then come out with a more fast paced danceable album. Like Usher is a good example yes he does slow r&b the best but he can't still give some variety. Normani needs to learn from SZA (I know they are two different artists). She needs to be more open to experimenting with her sound the whole r&b thing is great but learn how to cater to all of your audience. You still have people who like both R&B and pop; as well as other genres. Also just because you do more urban leaning music doesn't mean you're going to have a more black fanbase. As SZA, Tyla, and Summer Walker are of any testimony.

I understand that people want Normani to experiment with her sound, but some of y'all are acting as if Dopamine is strictly R&B. Yes, it's primarily R&B, but there's still some variety.

My issue with her is she came out the gate saying she was genreless. Then got her debut album pushed back because her label ceo wanted her to do more R&B. Then she goes silent for about a year releases a fire R&B track then does no follow up for another year and then tries her hand at slow melodic pop which failed and instead of pivoting into her pop lane she goes for the more boring slow pop/r&b song as a opener knowing damn well we didn't want that ****. We waited a year and a half for CP just for her to not release it as a full single. Now (I know she was she was forced to do the 1:59 first) because I truly believe she was fighting for CP but why would RCA sabotage her for a shitty song. Like they wanted her to be more pop and when she decidedly wants to give it to us they deny her. Like am I missing something? Like I can see why RCA is hesitant to give them any funding especially when she wasted money on not 1 but 2 videos that never saw the light of day.
