However, Mariah and her mother appeared in public and cordial spirits multiple times over the next 10 years, culminating in their duet. Imagine coming from that... the poverty, the racism, the desperation and failed dreams... to become the greatest female musician of all times with enduing impact and unmatched legacy... and wealth beyond our wildest dreams.

Mariah has dozens of cousins and aunts and uncles etc... from her father's side... and according to her Memoir... she was in contact with them (and hopefully still is). I don't think Mariah has ever met the two younger kids of Alison (another boy and a girl). I wonder how they feel about the whole family situation with their two older brothers being in Mariah's entourage... while they have to ... idk... struggle or do a real job.

I thought that much of his estate came from possessions or money Mariah had given him. I think Pat and Mariah definitely have a strained relationship. Perhaps not cut-off as you've said, but there definitely seems to be distance. I had forgotten that Alison had two other children as well.

Wow you could be a biographer knowing all this information off the top of your head Soap opera man I wouldn't be surprised if Pat and Alfred also had dysfunctional childhoods, this is generational trauma. And now Nick's side of the family is hot mess too with all the new siblings that Roc n Roe will have to deal with. Nick Cannon will probably put them all in a reality show at some point. Mariah and Pat didn't have a public fallout but based on the way she exposed her in the book, they probably don't talk. Or maybe Pat has dementia or something so she can't even remember.
