RandomHooker Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Billboard really needs to review their outdated formula. 1
IBeMe Posted October 14 Posted October 14 (edited) Just came home from the Joker 2 screening with my family. Omg guys...I cant believe it...I actually LOVED it wtf? yes you can see parts that could have been improved (too many singing / dance scenes imo) and also the ending is questionable but some moments were captivating. Gaga was indeed underused but she gave a solid AF supporting actress delivery imo. She 100% needs nad deserves an oscar nomination though with how the film is reviewed and the box office flop she may miss the nomination sadly even though she was the best thing of the film. The story was slow but if u are used to watching these types of slow paced films it actually works. idk...i came out enjoying it more than i thought i would and most importantly I was NOT embarassed watching it with family....they all came out liking it at worst and loving it at best (except my mom who said she loved Joaquin but hated the story and thought Gaga was just ok...*plz note my mom is kinda rough to female actresses in general...some internalized misogyny perhaps? *) but yeah...a great experience over all! No clenching or grasping onto my popcorn bag out of sheer humuliation for all the hyping I did for the film! overall I give it a 3.75/5 star which is very solid for me. edit: Oh ...I must note that we were literally the only ppl in our theater tho...so yes that part was kinda embarassing but I kept telling my family its cuz the film has been out for 2 weeks but one of my cousins said most films are still full capacity 2 weeks in and I just stared at him like until we moved on from the topic so yeah there's that I guess Edited October 14 by IBeMe 9 1
IBeMe Posted October 14 Posted October 14 oh there was one scene in the film where she was putting on her makeup (the scene in the trailer) and I was trying my best to see if the eyeliner was gonna have a big fat "Haus Labs" logo on it or whatever...thankfully it seems like the camera lense blurred it out but u could tell Gaga was trying her BEST to get the name showing but Toad said NO 8
Phoenixstar Posted October 14 Author Posted October 14 Lady Gaga & Bruno Mars' "Die With a Smile" is expected to spend a seventh week at #1 on the Billboard Global 200. It will tie Benson Boone's "Beautiful Things" as the longest-running #1 hit of 2024 3

It's the least they can do to compensate with that they did to Gar with this disastrous of a movie 3

I think liddos made it clear they won't support her ballads even if their lives depended on it DWAS debuted less than Stupid Love. Shallow debuted low, as did Million Reasons & Hold My Hand. I'm afraid there is not enough liddos left in the US or any particular country. Sure, there's a ton of us, but we are probably the most global fanbase ever, spreading in so many countries so we cannot possibly do **** in particular countries unless we pull some BoTs tactic
Aston Martin Posted October 14 Posted October 14 (edited) Talk of the Charts estimates that DWAS did 397k SPS units globally this week. That brings their estimate for DWAS's units to 3.2 million. Now back when TOTC had DWAS at 2.396 million, Billboard had DWAS's official on-demand streams WW at 615 million. Using their and RIAA's formula, that would've given DWAS 4.1 million units the same week. If you apply the same ratio between 2.396 million/4.1 million to this week's figures, you get 5.478 million WW SPS. Edited October 14 by Aston Martin 3 2

All her fan service projects bombed tragically (Chromatica Ball Film, Happy Mistakes etc etc), I hope she realise or realised that she is more of a GP artist now 1 1

They didn't succeed because they weren't what the fanbase needed or wanted. The CBT was already two years old, and HM was just another ballad. Even though it's a good song, the fanbase is tired of hearing that kind of songs. The nearly 5-year gap between pop projects, the half-hearted Chromatica era, Vegas, HausLabs, two jazzy albums in a row, four consecutive ballads, and the Nurtec controversy—yes, the fanbase has aged, but it feels like her team did everything possible to alienate them. She did solid numbers with Chromatica at first and could have sustained that for many weeks/months if she didn't stop the promo. I just hope those who were turned off by her lack of enthusiasm are willing to give her a second chance. 2 6
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted October 14 Posted October 14 I remember someone asking if we would have an announcement before page 9000. Someone replied "Yes" and here we are.
opbranden Posted October 14 Posted October 14 (edited) She can't make an announcement because it's a holiday, yet other artists are still releasing. Spoiler So excited about it Edited October 14 by opbranden 2

I dont think this will happen sadly. I dont think some of you have fully grasped just how alienating some of her decisions / her managers decisions have been these past 4-5 years ish sadly. The monsters still clinging on are usually the cupcakkes "Gaga can do no wrong" types or the ones who have been able to see the damage and can critcize Gag but we have invested too much into her to let go & we can see the bigger picture overall (me, @opbranden , @FailSafe etc...) type of fans. The rest have aged out or been "burnt" too many times for comfort so they defected at this point. That said, it means Gaga has entered a new chapter in her career and with that comes new battles so in some ways this could actually be a really fun phase in her career! she just needs to fight for each one of her projects now as she can no longer depend on a solid fan base to cushion her numbers anymore and she must rely on some GP support more than before and i hope she still has that flame to engage and fight for her releases now that she cannot coast along and half ass her projects anymore like she did with Chromatica era Edited October 14 by IBeMe 5
jesus del rey Posted October 14 Posted October 14 Most of the fanbase just stopped checking regularly what she's been upto, she needs to comeback with a good single and do some promo then she'll be fine 6

Some cupcakes have always misunderstood me, but I genuinely love her with all my heart—she really did save my life when I was a child. That said, I can still see things clearly despite my love for her. Like you mentioned, I'm too invested to just give up, but her team has made some questionable decisions. And I say "her team" specifically because I don't think most of the bad calls come from her directly. It's not her responsibility to make sure her fanbase stays healthy and engaged. Sure, Taylor, for example, is the mastermind behind all the excitement she stirs, but I'm sure she has someone on her team focused on how to keep her fanbase go crazy for every single thing. LG7 excites me so much, especially because she seems genuinely happy and proud of her music and creative process in a way we haven't seen since 2013—that's a whole 10 years ago. I really hope she'll be able to make us feel just how proud she is of the work she's put into it. 6
