opbranden Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I was just thinking that we were finally united around abracadabra and zombie, with no fighting or discussions... Well, it ended quickly. 3

Yeah, this narrative is rooted in the idea she doesn't have autonomy and is some kind of label puppet. We can argue she was disconnected from the album, but the idea she was forced is stupid as hell. 1 2

Slayed Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Is it true that Gesaffelstein is a confirmed producer? Or do we have any idea/rumors of who the producers are?

FameFatale Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Of course now the insiders on twitter are trying to be cute and post abracadabra 3
Onion Girl Posted July 29 Posted July 29 It confuses me when people say she doesn't have as much passion as she did before. Sure, she has talked about wanting to quit music a few times during the last decade, but who is say that she no longer cares? For all we know, she may have the most passion she has ever had for music right now, but she doesn't have to be everywhere in order to prove it to you. Her passion and love for her art can be just for her and whether or not you see it is not her problem. I feel like these criticisms come from a place of wanting to control her career rather then letting her live her life and make her own creative decisions. Just because eras seem shorter and she isn't doing Born This Way levels of promo doesn't mean she no longer cares, it may just mean that she is in a different place and the music alone is enough. 6

Edonis Posted July 29 Posted July 29 is this a safe space? Spoiler Gaga has been pushing this "pained artist" angle during her promotional campaigns since TFM. Even though this was especially highlighted during Chromatica's recording sessions and pre-era interviews, it wasn't the first time she said she struggled during the recording process of an album, and it probably won't be the last. Whether you view that as a marketing tactic or way to connect the music with the audience is something else entirely. The truth is, there hasn't been a single era since her debut where she's been cupcakes- and butterflies-level-happy, consistently. But the fact that she is saying the opposite NOW and sharing that she feels this excited for music is good news. It's a sign of personal and artistic growth, and we can already kind of see it with the snippets and TCB interviews. Anyways, excited for Dance in the Shadow (of the Grammys), Grammy of Eden, Grammycadabra, and LG(rammy)7's release! 5
BlondUnicorn Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I also don't think she can't release later this year because of the elections. Just saying they will probably try to avoid the two Fridays between Election Day.

It's been 4 years so I could be misremembering what was said, but I thought it was generally known that Chromatica was not a labor of love and just something she was "forced" to do.. Yep. Not doubting the connection and musical partnership they had but BloodPop was very much a label hire to revamp Gaga's sound and update her cultural standing, even if her heart wasn't fully in it. If you know anything about him it's also very clear he wrote all her viral meme tweets around the time & also the tea of none of the DOC remix artists having any direct contact with Gaga. I do like that album though. It came out with her personality stamped onto it well considering the circumstances. 3
SweetOreosOfHeaven Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Can't believe we had deuxmoi, a designer she hired and her dad confirming the album was ready to go and yet it isn't 1
