If Gaga has any hopes of an acting oscar in the future there's just NO WAY that she's not attending, since it would be a slap in the face. Kinda feel bad for the other performers cause they can't outsing Gaga so it's likely that she'll win IMO (she sings much better now that when she was nominated for Till It Happens To You) hollywood is an industry that is used to their members being away for months on end as part of their jobs, there have been plenty of people who have been nominated for way more major awards that didn't turn up and still won.
glacier76 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Both Gaga and Rihanna probably had talks with their producers when agreeing to take part of their films. There had to be talk about their songs being part of the awards discussion and the expectation to participate. Especially for Top Gun who won BOS way back when.

HeavyMetalAura Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Is there a record for most Oscar night musical performances? If she does HMH, that’ll be four performances. That’s a whole lot, and I’m sure before her career is over she’ll have at least 2-3 more.

Diocles Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 (edited) I feel like HMH will work perfectly live at the Oscars. Edited January 24, 2023 by Diocles
Sombre Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Final voting happens March 2 to March 7. I personally do not care about HMH's performance, but I hope they end up releasing the Chromatour film as part of the Oscar campaigning. I really just want the actual tour film.
glacier76 Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 It seemed Celine performed every year during the 90s. She even performed for a song that she didn’t sing as a last minute replacement.
Cheetos Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 She should perform hold my hand live from an aircraft carrier in the South China Sea

Infernal Paradise Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Ok but like fr, sometimes we need to sit back and just think, what she's done so far and continues doing is INSANE. The way she's made THE Oscars her playground in such a short time, effortlessly scoring noms except HoG for both singing AND acting, and getting big highlight moments year after year, is truly astonishing. And she's only in her 30s. She is going to do so many more amazing things throughout her career I just KNOW it As Scarlett Johansson said on the Oscars stage introducing her first performance in 2015, "the one and only, LG". LEGEND GODGA.

WildAmerican Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 HMH soundin’ FRESH today as soon as I saw TGM in screenplay I knew we were good. It was clearly a strong nom performer.

How would her not performing a song be a slap in the face? Gaga winning a 2nd oscar and not showing up... That would be unheard of. Okay her grandma died, but the Oscars are in March, there's plenty of time to mourn. So she's away cause she's acting? Then more reason to show up and stay in the Academy's good graces so she can eventually win an acting Oscar for Joker. I understand you guys care about her as a person, and that's fine, but she needs to show up, it's the best move for her career.
BlondUnicorn Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 Hopefully she performs the orchestra version we got to hear at the Cannes premiere.

Fun fact: she also came dangerously close to winning Sound and Original Screenplay 2x each. Maybe third time's a charm

Almodusa Posted January 24, 2023 Posted January 24, 2023 YASSS GODGA WITH 4 NOMS. HMH, the non-smash that COULD! That TG:M cinematography miss worried me a tad but it’s alright. Black Panther missed Best Picture
